I have similar baffles in my blue tracker. I tried fiberglass muffler pack (comes in sheets) and was not impressed. Coarse stainles brillo allow the expansion into the cone while still muffling a bit. YRMV
You captured so many good moments of the Rally, thank you for sharing. All of the moments were good this year, even the flat tire repair where so many stepped in to help our friend.
@Ben1 was brilliant in the planning here. We never mentioned "the blue tank that @Jim painted", only the "blue tank we have been hauling for delivery". :smoke:
As a side note to the trip north from Mountain View, the sky went from sunny to grey in northern Iowa from the Canadian wildfire smoke on Sunday and was grey and smelled of smoke all the way from Mankato MN to Sheboygan WI. That must be a helluva fire or fires.
I am pretty oblivious of the sound of my bike. It sounds good to me while I am riding it. My best gauge is to have someone else ride it past me or away from me to gauge whether it is "neighbor" acceptable.
Wrapping (rusty, dinged, scratched) pipes is a cheap appearance upgrade. Some fellows do not have the $ to replace all the dingy bits. How many of us have rattle canned an existing part on our project to keep the cost down?
Ben has a "Blue" tank and thought we could play @gggGary . The new "Madness" tank never came out of the box but we finally got Gary to get his blue tank out of @Ben1 s hatch.and Gary looked a little crestfallen when he saw this blue tank.
The pinstripe realy sets the candy apple red "off". In certain light the combo looks two-tone, light candy Apple on the face, darker outside the stripe. I think it looks very cool. I will post pics of the new "Standard " tank as soon as we mount it.
