Not bad for a one eared mechanic!

    XS650 prices falling ?

We are dying off, losing interest. The youngsters can't fix them. Two people at the Ozark rally were younger than me. They were both with their fathers. I think that's all there is to it.

    vacuum stubs query

If you take it off to run the petcock from the left barb, use an OEM cap and clamp on the right barb. The OE quality is superior to most other offerings. Speaking for myself, I’ve had no luck with aftermarket options.

    Nutrition health and Weight loss

Last night, I managed four sets of four at a bit more weight than that. I’ve had some sessions with a personal trainer. She’s improving my form and getting me on track to meet my goals. My #1 goal is to live as I want to for as long as my heart is beating.

    Nutrition health and Weight loss

I’ve been back on my horse for 5 days. I’ve lost 8 lbs in that time. That tells me the weight gain was inflammation. I’m getting back to my new normal.

    XS2 Survivor resurection.

I would love to have you as my neighbor. Better to have you in Mississippi than me in Illinois. This is all part of the joy of the hobby. There’s no stress or argument with the dealer over a warranty claim. @GLJ, you rock!

Securing Rear Chain Sprocket Bolts with Just Red Loc-tite??

OK. I admit that I dislike the bend-up tabs. I even had one fail in 2010 on a long trip. (I rode the entire BRP plus Skyline Drive and back again on my XS650SK). I’m a professional safety wirer. Why am I messing with this junk! I need drilled bolts or the tools to drill them.

    Painting Tins. No really...

VJMC is like that. The Vicksburg biannual show is not at all like that. I got a voucher for a free lunch at a nice downtown restaurant. I couldn’t have been happier. While no trophy was coming for me, my SK and SH got plenty of attention and conversation. I think I had two of the two XS650s in...

    Painting Tins. No really...

If I we’re putting the bike in a show, I wouldn’t hesitate to put stock bars on it. It takes only minutes to change them if the cabling and hoses are stock. I’d love to see a stock XS650 Special win anything at a show. I put two in a show in November and rode them all day to get there. It’s the...

    Alive and Kicking

That’s very good. Where I work, I can only imagine carrying a very large man in a wheelchair down two long flights of stairs.

    XS650SG Steering head

I think you’re showing us handlebar riser bushings. The OE are rubber. The ones you have are made by Hugh’s Hand Built. You can buy them from Hugh’s Hand Built or TC Bros. https://www.hughshandbuilt.com/product/xs650-sr500-solid-riser-bushings/...

We have that same situation at work. I’m not even going to ask what the workaround is.

    Any Harley guys here?

If the thread has Harley-Davidson in the title, it’s very simple for disinterested parties to ignore it. Speaking for myself, it’s not an issue.

    It really is a sickness…

Yep! My wife could not care less about my motorcycle habit. All that shit in the garage isn’t her problem. I don’t stop her from doing whatever she wants either. She just told me she’s going to Europe. Hmmm…. The garage is full. :umm:

Replacing Rotors with XS1100 sloted rotors

If anyone knows your Morris/XS650 brake setup, it’s Michael “Mercury” Morse at 650central.com. He’s also Vintagebrake.com. You may want to give him a call.

Replacing Rotors with XS1100 sloted rotors

XS1100 rotors fit 1977 and later XS650 bikes without any modifications. XS750 and XS850 rotors are smaller, so no go.
