Just another Fong Bros wannabe.... long on time, short on cash!

Really cool looking build. I really like the welded-back-on footpeg mounts. I would be pretty nervous with that seat and no rear fender though. I like the pipes too. I'm probably gonna steal some ideas once I work up the courage to start cutting my bike.

I'd be more nervous about BC taxes, lol! I've never done anything like this before and it's taken me a month to get the bike to where it is. With this forum and the availability of parts online, its really all pretty easy. Just go for it! I trolled around online for about a month before I finally had the courage to buy a bike. Good luck, let me know if you have any questions, I'm here to help!

Thanks for posting all of this. You have given me inspiration to start my own build!

Hey man, nice build. Just wondering where you got your rear firestone? The cheapest was on ebay for $175 plus shipping. I just checked the same guy again and his price just went up to $194 plus shipping. Seems like these tires just keep going up in price.

Where in PEI? I'm actually from Charlottetown! I ordered mine from Sylmar Autoville in Ontario but they messed up my order and made me pay return shipping in order to exchange for the right tire. The prices did take a hike since the start of 2013....the distributor told me that. If you have spokes, you'll need tubes too. I think the best price overall is from J&P Cycles online...about $200/rear, $185/front and $15/tube all + shipping and duty which the website will calculate.

Sylmar is one of the only distributors in Canada but their customer service and overall attitude was terrible. If I were to do it again, I'd order from JP.

I dont trust JB that much! On the other hand it has never let me down before!

Small world A5HLEY, Alot of guys from the east coast are in Alberta. Probably some of the best workers around. I'd be out to if i didn't have a small family now. I was there for a couple years back in 2000.

Guys... got the seat mounted over the weekend and it looks and works great!
Ryan (the actual traveling man) was awesome throughout the whole process and his price was reasonable, shipping was fast and product is unreal!

You would not believe how comfortable this seat is! I bolted it directly to the frame downtube by tapping the holes and threading through 7/16th and 3/8th threaded rod. I screwed the rod all of the way through the opening on one side of the downtube until it touched the inside wall on the opposite side. This way the pressure is distributed more evenly. To top it off, after the rods are tightened down, I'll TIG weld them to the frame for added strength. You simply use washers to shim the front or back to change the angle and adjust the comfort.

Overall, the seat has both the look and feel I was going for. It's a real head turner b/c it appears to be 'floating' with no springs, however the inverted tractor leaf spring does all of the work to make the rigid frame somewhat forgiving!
