I've been doing my research on tires and sizes and just wanted to make sure i'm making the right decision before I purchase them.

For my front tire I'm thinking the Dunlop K81/TT100GP 100/90H19 TL
and For my rear, the Dunlop K81/TT100GP 110/90H18 TL

Does that sound right?

Thanks!

Where are you buying the GPs from? Every place I've looked at in the U.S. carries the TT100, but not the TT100GP. Thanks.

Wellll...
In my research I guess the thing i overlooked was that I was on an australian site the whole time and now that I double checked, they don't ship to the U.S.
bummmmer!

the site was teammoto.com.au

How do the TT100 compare?

Thanks

From this website:

http://www.dunloptyres.com.au/TyreDetailAction.do?website=DUN&mtpcode=80116&from=nPerPage

I asked the following question through the 'Contact Us' link:

"What are the differences between the TT100 tire sold in the United States and the TT100GP tire sold in other countries?"

and got this reply:

"Hi Wade
There will be no difference. They all come out of the same factory to the same specs.

Please note there are 2 versions available in Aust
a. TT100 GP Special soft race comp
b. TT100 / K81 standard compound

It is easy to identify the difference by the description on side wall & the way they are sized

I replied to his message a little while ago and asked if there were any retailers in the U.S. that were selling the TT100GP. I'll post the response when I get it. Thanks.

I've got 18" gp's front & back, the rear is a 4.00-18, front is a 90/90 H18
I tried a 4.00 on the front once (I wasn't able to get a 90/90) man the thing was horrible to steer, like a tractor!

Yes, there are some sizing differences between the gp's & the std range. No doubt the road range would last a lot longer than the gp's also!

dang I can't imagine having a 4.00 in the front.

I would like to get the gp's but i'm gonna look around at other tires too.

I've got a 19" rim in the front and 18" in the back( stock wheels)...
Does it sound like I have the right size in mind: 100/90-19 for the front and 110/90-18 for the back?

Oh sweet!

Do i need to worry about the tires width being too small if i were to go to a 90/90 or even an 80/90 for the fronts?

Well good deal!

It looks like the TT100's on bikebandit.com aren't available in 90/90-19 but the K70's have a 3.25-19.

The K70s are tube type tires and the TT100's are tubeless... can I do either one?

It'd help if I had my bike near me so I could see what I have on it right now but I'm doing all this research from a hotel room in CO haha...

Thanks!

I take it you were planning on running tubes anyway? But yeah, no problem either way. The only time you really have trouble with tubes is either putting tubes in a radial tyre (DON'T do this without fuuly researching) or people thinking their busted arse old 650 mags are designed for tubeless (many are NOT)

Hmm okay that makes sense.
I wasn't really planning on running tubes per say, just whatever is best If you know what I mean.

Well tubes are fine, most on XS's will be running tubes. what rims have you got?
Ultimately tubeless are best, but of course that depends on evrything else!

Yep, well you'll be needing tubes anyway then. Spring for a new pair of rustbands while your at it
