I've been building a customizing bike for more than few years now. I just snagged a 1983 XS 650 for $500. It belonged to a guys father who died. The guy I got it from has moved it 4 times with out ever starting it. He was moving at the end of the week and listed in on Craigslist on Monday. I got there as fast as I could cash in hand.
The bike is a complete '83 Heritage Special in incredible shape. It was only missing 1 side cover. I ended up rebuilding the carbs with replacement bodies, changing the oil, brake fluid and charging the battery. It starts and runs beautifully now. It's got an original 80s style 2 into 1 Kerker on it.

The plan is to build a street tracker out of it. I'll be using a Hotwing glass tail section, Mini speedo and low brow customs Street tracker bars.

Since you asked.
Here's what it looked like the day I brought it home.

I've spent most of my evenings searching the site. I already found a ton of ways to save $$ on the build.
