Paint ideas

Just went through this, and it can do your head in, I wasted lots of time looking at many sites such as this site and others (Do The Ton, Benjies Cafe Racers for example), also the (honda) SOHC forum has an "inspiration gallery" where bikes of all types get posted, lots of ideas there.

Anyway decided to go for chrome paint for tank and tailpeice, with the traditional one thick/two thin centre GT stripes in black, I've attached a link to the product below FYI. Last week I saw a mock up on a blank surface prior to painting my stuff, I'm impressed, not a full chrome, but still brighter and more reflective (93% I'm told) than silver paint, more a polished stainless look. The process is a bit more labour intensive and the product is exe, but not much is needed for a bike tank and tailpeice, should be back to me next week, pics will follow.

The Norton attached was my inspiration

Hey Guys just recieved this (mobile phone) pic from the paint shop, this is the "chrome" paint waiting on the final clear, if it looks as good in real life I'm happy
cheers

my problem is i have a sweet carbon fiber kit from benjies on my bike i bought it from the previous owner she has simple plain boring graphics done on the cafe kit the paint is a plain grey racing stripe and in grey script font yamaha and in red xs650 and a red logo boring.
i want to do some old school gasser style lettering in a sweet candy paint and and have a silver or goals leaf accent i would love to add a number to the tail section in matching style.
the problem is the carbon fiber is intimidating to work with. i may find some one who can do it though

the bike can be seen on the web page here

What about a wrap?

That could work as long as i can keep the wrap as an accent to highlight the carbon fiber. Graphis in the style of the orignal yamaha xs graphics but a custom color would be an idea. When i get the bike all finished. I have a paint and body guy that may be making me some custom side covers i might pick his brain on doing graphics
