Sky, your XS builds are insane! You definitely aren't afraid to go extreme. Did you have any other fabricating experience other than the supercharged Neon before the first XS build? I think your XS builds each deserve their own threads.

Man such nice bikes here ,and bloody extreme as well in the last post
the air-ride XS is superbly built ,big respect for that !!Can't wait to see the Turbo-XS finished :D

Photoshopped this to hide the fact that the hardtail isn't even welded yet and everything is literally balancing on the frame and a 2x4 in this shot.

Thanks,I should be getting the frame back from the local chassis guru by end of the month, now that drag racing season is near end. I'm only comfortable with my MIG welds and didn't want to take any chances. Going into winter I'll have plenty of time to take my time and build something pretty substantial (let's hope).

Malloy,

Nice bikes! I saw the pic of your '71, then read "I currenty have a XS1B ......... to be chopped soon." and almost shit myself. haha

glad you aren't cutting that up! Beautiful bike!

Thanks! Honestly, my old man is slowly stealing the 71 from me....so I will be hunting for an all original XS1 or XS1B. My XS1B has a '74 engine...so its not 'perfect' If you know of any f/s LMK ;)

Hello,
Kind of new around here and would like to put up a couple of my bikes.
1979 Kawasaki KZ650SR-liked it a lot but sold it to buy another bike.

A 1990 Yamaha XV535 Virago I bought cheap and flipped. Only needed a little tlc and was actually a great bike.

A 1981? GL500 Honda Silverwing that was a novel little bike.Sold.
P3040001.jpg

A 2006 EX250 Ninja that I got a deal on-had 10 miles on it- is a fun little bike that I still have. Best mpg = 75 mpg.

Finally my other ride. My project in the works. 77'D XS650 that I have slowly been restoring.

Oh geez what NOT? If you look in the picture at the front rim, forks etc they look good. The front forks , rim top triple were polished. New tapered steering head bearings.Drilled and tapped a grease fitting into the steering head. New front fender. Fork gaiters. Nos gauge buckets, meter bracket, upper fork cover, nos chrome '76 (oem 77 was black) headlight bucket and ring. Turned and painted rotor, greased wheel bearing, painted speedo drive, rebuild kit and new piston and paint for front caliper.Braided steel brake lines. New battery cables. New front master cylinder with black lever, matching clutch perch and lever-to be put on. Pamco ignition with new ignition coil and plug wires and caps.
Uh to be done....paint.Repro decals. Exhaust. Upgrade the rectifier, regulator, check brushes. Swap out valve covers for polished ones I have. Degrease cylinders to check for leaks.Polish engine side covers. Change to one piece clutch rod, swap out the clutch cable. Change chain and sprockets to more highway friendly gearing. New shorter shocks, shorten the side stand....and so forth. Are you sorry you asked? A link to my project narrative.
