Default piston ring install. quick ? pros.

Putting the new rings on, Letters on the rings face up i know...one is marked R and one is marked RN. Which one goes where? I did this once a few years ago but can't remember.


2010 Kawasaki Versys
1974 TX650A resto modded and never done.
1985 KLR250.....time capsule with some light mods.
1993 KLR250...rough looking, but refreshed mechanically (wifes bike)
spare XS650 motor...slow build to 750 with a decent cam.

They'll only fit in the grooves they're made for. The top 2 rings are different thicknesses and the thicker one won't go in the thinner slot. No way to mix 'em up ...... but wait ..... some of the stuff I see done here ..... I think I've seen it all but then someone changes his throttle cable by bending the holder open with pliers, lol ..... that'll always be my fav but new ones happen almost every day.

both fit, new ones and stock....anyone else?
