I'm reassembling a 1974 TX650A and have a part that I can't remember where it came from. Can anybody identify it and tell me where it goes?

I have a 74 and never saw one of those, could it have gotten into your parts by chance? what other parts were with it?

Right side throttle stop screw for linked carbs? AKA sync screw. Is there a small spring and clip with it?

looks like the bolt that connects the blinker fluid reservoir to the muffler bearing.

I always keep a few parts like that in my pocket and add them to the collection whenever I am visiting a "work in progress" Wink.

Looks like part of a worm gear assembly, like on a hose clamp.

threads are too shallow for a hose clamp.
I believe that thar is a whoskadousker!

Close but I don't think so, the 74 doesn't use that brake and IIRC #5 doesn't have the groove.

Thanks for everyone's help in trying to identify the part I was having trouble with. I thought it may have come from the clutch or transmission as those were the parts I was removing and cleaning from the cases before having them glass beaded. Then I thought it may have come from the BS38 carburetors as I was inspecting them before rebuilding them but the threaded end would not fit anywhere. So it must be a stray part from somewhere else and not from the bike that got put in with them by some unknown means..
