Well I've been shooting more lately and really want to buy a new 9mm taurus. But I also want a new set of pipes for my bike. I can't decide which to buy.

Taurus? Man, don't do it. Save your money for a better gun or just buy pipes! IMO

Get a flintlock. Fun as hell to shoot, and it's the actual gun that the Constitution guarantees you can own ;)

I was looking at a Beretta 92fs but I don't like the safety on the slide. A guy that we shoot with has 45000 rds through his Taurus pt92 which is a clone of the Beretta but I liked it better. I always do this to myself. Lol. I really like Gordon Scott's cafe pipes with mufflers. And that's the one thing my bike is lacking. Plus I guess I could sell my Mac 2-1 setup to fund the pistol.

I am an avid motorcyclist and gun enthusiast. I never recommend a Taurus, but there is no harm in finding a good deal on a used one, since you can usually resell it for what you have into it. I am a fan of Springfield's pistols. Looking to buy a new pocket gun shortly myself. But Mr. Scott's pipes are a thing of beauty as well. Can't go wrong there.

My 2 cents. I work part-time at a tackle/hunting shop, and we sell guns. I'm a HK man myself, but I will say, Taurus is the only company that makes 100% of the gun, in their facility, in the US. Every screw, roll pin, everything. If you do get a Taurus, go big, get the "Judge" 45/.410, lol. Don't just clear the room, clear the hallway too. If you want something else, get a HK. Spend the money and go German. I worked for the Govt. testing weapons. I still hold my certifications from HK, FN, Beretta and had certs. from Colt, Sig, Browning and Glock. We would put tens of thousands of rounds thru one gun just to see when it broke, I've got letters of appreciation from generals to prove it. Not just 100 at a beer can, not killing a dirt pile. HK had the least amount of failures, Beretta was second.

p.s., buy the pipes.

Get what you need.
But........
The Judge is a good call for home defense.
45 on the left. 410 slug on the stump.
Living room distances.

I was looking at the judge but I was to introduce my wife into shooting also. That's why I was thinking 9mm. I don't like polymer guns that's why I was looking at the 92 series. And I have a welder And some stock head pipes so I should try to fab my own and when I fail after I buy the pistol. Then buy the pipes. Lol

Colt 1911 45

I'll second that, my favorite. :D

I wasn't a fan on polymer frames until I bought my PPS. I have shot S&W M&Ps and Springfield XDs in 9mm and .40S&W and been pleasantly surprised with both, particularly the XD, Springfield did that gun well.

As far as the Pipes vs. Pistol, I'm going to graciously abstain from voting because I couldn't decided either.

Well, if we're going to get into specific brands (I deleted my original rant) it's hard to beat a Colt for a .45, and in 9mm I like my Sig, but I wouldn't part with my Browning Hi Power either.

I don't own any tupperware pistols, just not interested. I know there are any number of fine examples out there, but I'm even more of a traditionalist about guns than I am about bikes. Guns are blue steel with walnut grips (except for a couple that are stainless steel with rubber grips...:))
