Another member mentioned organizing a XS 650 run/rally in another thread. I figured I would step up and start a thread to gauge interest. So who would be interested?
I have some experience in organizing and planning these events, so if need be I will. obviously I would lean toward having it in my neck of the woods (Eastern North Carolina) May be we could all meet in myrtle beach and ride to the Outter Banks? Or I have a Buddy that owns a motorcycle only camping resort with cabins, in the mountains of NC (Wilksboro area) very close to the Blue ridge parkway. That would be a great area also.
Whats the members think?????

I voted no but only because I'm a Detroiter and not in a position to get there. I think it's a great idea and I hope you are able to pull one together. I went to school in Greensboro and there is great riding out there, several Saturdays I'd ride till I was lost just to see more of the area.

Good Luck!

A motorcycle campground near the Blue Ridge is perfect for a 650 Yamaha. It is kinda near the center of the state........so when are you having this????? :)

- i think its a great idea ...perfect networking opportunity...as i live in europe its not so easy for me to attend but i do have bikes in canada and a mate with a rest area in the rockies

I live in the Hampton Roads area and have been day dreaming of taking rides to camp in the outer banks for months now. I just need to get my baby finished up and then I hope to be making that run with friends on a frequent basis.

I am completely down for a ride. The revenge run looked like it was a big success. Too far away to start and finish for me, but something a little closer like you are suggesting would be great!

Could possibly get group rates at one of the many hatteras camp sites too.

The Yamaha 650 Society Great Smoky Mountain Rendezvous takes place every September, and I've missed it only once in the last 5 years (medical reasons). The starting point is Townsend, TN. Most of the miles are put on in NC after a run down the Dragon.

This is the link I believe: http://beaver.vinu.edu/650.htm

And I haven't even ridden a bike yet ;) Never even been ten feet without my feet touching the ground. I have a training course in a few weeks and hopefully my bike will be all done by the second week in June. So, it's hard to say. I would like to say I can go 400 miles, but won't know until I go ;)

I am in Newport News. Always looking or fellow xs650 guys. I know of none around here actually.

you going to get something going for the obx or otherwise?

Just checking interest right now. Tell ya what when you finish the riders course and feel comfortable riding distances. I can put something together. I got some strong contacts in obx. It may just be a couple of us the first ride. But if you give someone a place to ride and people to ride with. It will most likely grow.

Hey, I prefer the mountains, but if you guys want to meet up at the OBX just tell me where! oh boy, oh boy, oh boy!
