I'll just leave this here :D

Got super inspired at the ONE show here in Portland last month, (you may have been there) http://theonemotorcycleshow.com and just picked up a 1975 XS650 in decent shape this past Sunday. Got an extra rebuilt engine also. loved your video and all the info and pix that you've put up. I need to do something about my seat pronto, (currently cow print leather). I saw on one of your posts about your custom seat and your cardboard cut out and the upholstery joint you used . Do have any other info up about your seat build?

That's about it man. Make sure the frames how you like it. I had to rebuild mine from pretty much the shock mount back (PO chopped it). After that I got a piece of cardboard and used that to figure out where I wanted the bolts to attach. I think it used 18ga steel, I could be wrong though. Just use whatever everybody else is using for seat pans. Once I got it all cut out, bent into shape, bolts welded on, etc. I took it to the upholster. If you wanna see it private message me and I'll ride over to you sometime. I'm in inner SE.

Hey guys, I wanted to post a quick update:

The bike's been running great, finally got the clutch adjustments right, and my rear fender to stop vibrating it's self to pieces, the weathers finally changing up here and I'm getting some good riding in.

And now, my next big adventure: a thousand mile ride.
That's right, on this bike. Not because it's setup for touring or even a good choice for a long distance bike. But because I built this with my own two hands, and in the American way of self reliance I'm gonna ride out through the desert with just my tools, my tent and my f#$%ing can-do spirit.

Here's to doing in the wind!

Tell me you are going to born free. Even if you are not, just tell me someone is and that someone is you.

Here's the reference photo that I bought to the upholsterer.
