Mikes Standard Style Gas Tank

Anyone ever fit one to a Special? I am wondering if it will work with the cafe seat. My original tank has sprung a leak, and for the cost of one of those, it would be worth it to me to forgo the hassle of cleaning and sealing the old one. I suspect getting it sealed at a shop would be close to the cost of a new tank, so eff it, a new one it is.


By the way, I think they are missing out on a sure thing by not reproducing an XS750 tank. They would have another whole market from the triples guys, along with the 650 modders.

ive not looked at mikes tanks in person, but if it were me, ide fix what you have. original equipment is far superior to repops, especially frome Mike's.

+1 agree - the steel is thinner on the repop tank & the paint is what I would call average.

I have one on my '83 Special, I think that considering you get new petcocks they are a bargain.

Ok, so does anyone know of a deep tunnel Wassel-style tank that will go on an otherwise stock XS650 and hide all the electrical and cables?

i think the deep tunnels hit the upper mptpr mpunt. but some have redesigned that mount.
I dont think it will hide the coils, and the flasher either. tunnels not wide enuf.
