Hi, bergoff.

That is a cool headlight. I've been wanting to upgrade as well, original 42 yr old bulb gotta blow soon.
Long time ago I built a daylight sensor that controlled dome light delay in my hotrod.

So, what about a daylight sensor to control the halo ring?
You have enuff room for that 4" depth?

PS...
Here in TX, headlights must be on at all times (only if newer than `74, I'm excused)
If it were down here, I'd probably use a simple relay, halo ON unless H4 ON, then halo OFF.

Its going to be close. And if it don't fit I'll send it back.

Pete I had no idea what you were talking about. But thanks to you and Youtube I understand and its so simple its brilliant. Thanks man!

Well, here is a possible wiring diagram using a DPDT 12 Volt relay:

1. When you first turn on the headlights switch, the +12 goes through contacts A to B to power the Hallo.
2. The first time you select Hi Beam, the +12 goes through the diode to the coil of the relay and powers the relay which switches contact A from the Hallo to the low beam filament of the H4.
3. Contacts D and E close to provide power to the relay coil so it will stay energized.
