Here is my start of my 1978. Trying for the British look. I have Brit style mufflers and had the seat re-sculptured. I am working on the wiring with a new fuse box.( will post pictures Friday) Still a long way to go. Thanks TC

I made a mount for my fuse box today. I will remove it and paint it black. Little by little it is coming together. This box by Centech is well made and makes wiring much easier. I will try to document the rest of my steps. Thanks TC P.S. just added painted mount.

Just a hint...this build is worthy of an exclusive thread!

Absolutely! All builds should have their own threads! I think of this thread as a place to post a pic or two of your bike or project, then put a link to your build thread. It's a teaser thread.

just another picture of the bike now with matching wheels and small headlight fairing, just the seat needing to be recovered left. With all these new members that are coming to this forum this thread should be stacked out with new posts

Just a standard Special. .......So far Tapered roller bearings in the steering head, bronze swing arm bushes and new bushing and bolt, Progressive springs in the front forks, completely recon the front and rear calipers and MC's, new brake hoses and the rotors ground, new sprockets and chain, and new shocks on the rear. Redoing the electrics in the front bucket as i am putting another set of gauges on, a set off a 78 Special US model, sorting out broken and cut wires and old rotten connectors so while i have been doing that i decided to clean up the contacts and learn a bit about wiring.........

I wanted to tidy it up and make it reliable after i bought it but:rolleyes: it has been a lemon and had to do way more than i expected. Put the original style fork covers back on and a fork brace as well. i like the 78/79 Special tail light so installed that. I put one of Mikes duel lobe cams for the points on and iridium plugs. This was supposed to be my daily runner while i done up another that i have, so i have spent way more on this (and haven't got into the motor yet) so yet to know how far i will be going on the motor. Have a 750 kit and some racing primaries, (sourced from Ivan Hoey Australia), Was hoping the crank was good and rephase another motor but the way this has been going i don't know. Bought this sight unseen, asked a lot of questions and got a lot of good answers and the PO rode it to my daughters place an hour away so i thought it should be ok. Shit happens :poke:

- i guess youll think twice before buying sight unseen again...what carbs were you thinking about using on the 750 + high ratio primaries +? rephase?
