xs650 build off 2014!!

Bad ass! We all leave in a or very close to Howell... It'd be awesome to posse up and rollout!

Sounds like a blast! I was just there this weekend picking up an XS from my inlaws. I'll be visiting again in March, and Preacherman said he'd take me to school on seat-building. I'll hafta stop by and check out your shop... maybe some creativity will rub off on me!

Sounds awesome man! Lathe, tig, jd2 bender, plasma cutter, let etc... All yours to use!

Ouch! It would be almost 300 mi for me. Would anyone be traveling further than this?

Yeah 474 miles for me, and i know there's another member 120 miles north of me thinking about doing this too, althought if he goes accross mackinaw bridge and through lower penninsula it will be 505 miles for him. and there was at least one from Texas so 300 man thats nothing LOL

Not sure... Probably make a family trip out of it to visit the inlaws in Michigan. So probably trailer to MI, then ride down from there. Of course, I love riding long distances, so who knows?

I live in South Bend, IN.... born in MICHIGAN and hope to meet up with the MIcrew on the ride to Defiance. .... with at least one of the two i am shooting for..... last years stalled full frame and a bratty 2up heritage special....

Add me to the list. It will be a challenge to put together a bike to take me on a 1000 mile round trip.

Hey Guy, I'm in Marinette WI now but moving to Menominee MI before the 1st of Nov so maybe when its time for the ride we could meetup in say esky n ride down to Howell and ride with the crew that sounds like is forming up there, I actually lived in Michigan most of my life. grew up in Menominee MI and also lived in Plymouth MI and Livonia MI a total of 10 years too. So i'm looking forward to riding through the state and hopefully along with the rest of the XS650 Addict's to Defiance. LOL

I got the Plan in my head and some parts on hand and more to be ordered but don't worry I won't start till Nov on any actual work on the bike. I am movin into a new place by the 1st that has a 24 x 26 garage that will be all shop, so i'm pretty stoked to be in this. I'm planning a hardtailed XS with Cole Foster tank, 36 Ford Ribbed Tire Ring Fenders, fork covers and probably some Hyde "M" style bars for that chopped/nostalgic (Capone inspired with front forks instead of springer) look and as long as i'm at it i might as well do all the upgrades, ignition/charging/rephase. I just finally picked up the bike last weekend that i'm going to use, a barely started hardtailed project i bought off ebay awhile ago and the owner had put what i think is a tc bro's hardtail on it and made some ape hanger bars and then there it sat like that for over 4 years, and the previous owner before him had tore it down in like 88 or 89 for a full restoration and it sat that way till the the guy i bought it from bought it in 2008 and he was too busy with kids and other projects to finish it, so he let it go for what i think was a steal. So if anyone is looking for stock 77 parts I have most of them that I won't be using and will sell for a reasonable price.

Or on second thought maybe a Brat style with the same parts mentioned above I do have some frames sitting around and after just seeing Stevec8831's build album Man decisions decisions well i have a few weeks to decide LOL

Man let's get choppin!!!!!

Bad news fellas. My build is starting up very soon and its going to be the best of 2014! If you guys want to give me the proverbial "Best in Show" 2014 award I'll go ahead and accept it now. All I need is a damn frame and engine to go with these parts.....
