Well I finally started my project....

Brought home some scrap components from work and use them for fastener storage... I got 3 boxes of fasteners that were going to be scraped, most of which is stainless... I been wanting to get these things sorted for about year.... I got about 1 of the 3 boxes done and done for the day....

That is a lot of hardware. But what is shocking is the amount of Vaseline you use! Lol

Holy crap look at the 3/8" flat washers I got!!! :yikes: I also got two of those jars filled with them...

I got one more box to go through..... This is what I got so far.....

Started the third box... Its all black oxide fasteners...... If some needs some 7/16-14 x 2-1/2 plow bolts or M10-1.5 set screws ranging from 10mm to 40mm I could be your best friend! lol. Those set screws will make good sling shot ammo! lol!

looks like a real comfortable position

Only problem I can see is that the suspension is going to be wacking you in the base of the spine at every bump .
What are your plans for seat suspension ?

I haven't been on here in awhile.. Now that the Hot Drag Week 2014 is over it's time to do a little riding of the scooter.... I rode her the other day and snapped tis picture then realized my tags were out of date... I'll ge that taken care of tomorrow. :)

Drag Week was a blast even though we broke on day one about 20 minutes from our next destination in Topeka.... We are having rocker arm issues.... I guess when you have 400 lbs. of valve seat pressure and over 1000 lbs open pressure it plays hell on the valve train and finds the weakest link, our being the rockers... With a 1.8 ratio on the rocker arm that is about 1800 lbs of force on the pushrod side!!!! We also had some problems with the MSD timing retard box doing some crazy stuff like no spark sometimes when we would try to start the car. Other than that the car ran great and got about 10 mpg pulling a 2000+ lb trailer.... At Tulsa was the very first 1/4 mile pass we ever made in the car.. it hooked and went a 8.93 @ 151 mph lifting at the 1000' mark.... Lance got a little uncomfortable, he said air was getting under the car and it was getting a little unstable, also he had never been that fast... :) That is with the smallest Nitrous tune too.. My calulator shows to run an 8.93 at 151 mph in full 1/4 at 4200lbs it takes 1391 hp.... We know that the engine has the potental to make over 2000 hp if we really start to lean on it, but the 12 bolt rearend is going to be the weak link even though it has the best stuff in it..... We made our pass then loaded up to head to Topeka.. this was a 257 mile route according to the directions we had to follow. Well about 20 miles outside of Topeka we just turn onto the entrance ramp to get onto I75 and we heard some engine noise. It sounded like some one pecking on the roll cage... I already knew what it was though... So we pulled the passenger valve cover and low and behold a broken rocker.. We looked at the others and found two more cracked and about to fail.. All were intake rockers, they are also all offset rockers.. we had spares and put them on, on the shoulder of the road and drove on in to the Hotel on Topeka and decided to get a rental car to go get the truck because we knew more rockers would fail and we still had over 700 miles of driving to do during the rest of the event... We're already getting ready for next year. Two sets of rocker arms 1.5 ratio for driving and 1.8's for racing...

Sorry to hear about your rocker arm problems man, that sucks.
What brand are those arms? They look to be good quality pieces.
8.93 with 4200 lbs! Damn man! That's damn fast for 2 tons!

John the rockers are Harland Sharps.. They do make good stuff and are going to redesign them to make them a little stronger and give us a discounted price. The set we have was the very first set they had made for that head design from Dart....... They are also going to make us a set of 1.5 ratio for driving. That should take all of pressure and help the valve train live longer......

Carbon he says that the car pulls like a fighter jet on the track.

That 8.93 for a first pass is pretty impressive to say the least. The bike looks good in the picture now time to ride. Thanks for the pictures.

Thanks, Not really the first pass we got about 12 1/8 mile runs on it but it was the first 1/4 mile pass.. We know the car will go faster the the chassis is certified for when we start to lean on it and throw some more Nitrous to her... My bet is the 12 bolt rear end is gonna give up... She's a heavy 'ole gal' .:D

Been a while since i been on here.. Haven't been riding much, weather has played a big factor in that and the fact we are busting a$$ trying to get the drag week car ready. Totally changes the engine setup from a Nitrous injected 632 to a Fuel injected twin turbo 427 on Methanol... Twin 76's and 24 injectors.. Had to build everything headers, drill and weld the injectors bungs, intake elbow and fuel rails.. Modifying the engine block for the extra head bolts... It's been crazy..
