Good Heart, Bad Intentions: another build thread

any luck, did ya get back on the road. I.M.O.C Italy bikes meet tomorrow in Sturbridge mass. kind of a haul but its a good show.

New clevis fabbed, welded, and installed, but haven't had a chance to get out for a ride... I have an AM commitment tomorrow, but I'm always up for adventure! Well see what happens:thumbsup:

Hey just found your build, looks great and giving me hope, just picked up a 75 650 that had built as a street tracker? This will be my second build and it's just great to see your ideas come to life, I love the early racing styles wither it be old camam cars or old race bikes you hit it on the head with some new tech under it

This is quite the interesting build. I believe I ran into it, and bookmarked, but then again my laptop died on me so I was lucky enough to find it. I really dig the level of detail you have put into your build. It's been bookmarked again. I sent you a PM. Keep up the good work. I'll be following it.

For those who've followed along throughout, or those who are just discovering this thread, I'd like to say: sorry for the lack of recent updates! Not too much more to report, as I've been busy with a new (non-XS) build, but never fear, there's a few more gnarly ideas in the works for this ol' XS.

Can't wait to see what you come up with next, your work is truly inspiring. Post up some shots of the new build even if it isn't an xs. I would love to see what you are working on.

The new project is still developing... but as of today, it has one thing my XS doesn't:

Hardpoints for a de-mountable luggage rack!

Just read through your thread and was laughing my @$$ off at the light hearted narrative that accompanied the great pics. Keep up the great work, sounds like you are having way to much fun with the fumes, epoxy dust and beer!!!

...and to those who may be wondering: no, I have not stopped tinkering on the XS. In fact, just today I made several ineffectual jetting and intake manifold changes!

I am under taking a very similar build. I am using forks, brakes and rear shock from a 2012 R6. I am having a hard time finding a rear hub that that uses both spokes and a disk. I have read your posting and can't find what rear hub you used, what hub did you use? Thanks!

The rear hub is a stock early XS front hub converted to rear use. This topic has been discussed and debated all over this forum; you should find tons of info with a couple of searches. Long story short: every conversion has some sort of compromise, and there are no especially cheap/easy/bolt-on solutions.
