Decisions

Speaking of specialty beers, I'm starting to gather up a collection of them. These are beers that people have gifted me or ones that I saw on the shelf and thought they might be good but changed my mind. Beers made with chipotle, or bacon and stuff like that. I'm not a fussy eater or anything, but sometimes the weirdo beers gross me out. I think the microbreweries are always reaching and innovating and experimenting - and thats a good thing - but the consumer has to be able to stomach the results!

Higgy,

Have you collected any Smutty Nose from up your way? It was the most astringent IPA I ever tried.

Smuttynose Finest Kind IPA is actually one of my favorites, Marty! My son and I used to haunt one Boston Irish pub in particular, but recently we've been infatuated with the Smuttynose brewery and the tavern there. Smutty puts out some really great brews in my opinion.

FWIW, I agree with you about some IPAs... they taste like battery acid!

Nope. I sent the wrong message. I like IPA's. They are all at least somewhat astringent. I don't dislike that. I just remember the Smutty clearing my sinuses. There are some IPA's that I dislike and will avoid. Smutty isn't one of them, however it is not distributed anywhere near me.:(

Grain Belt, just good basic beer. I bought a bunch from one of the tourist places when they were about to close for the season. Relatives are drinking it up and leaving the expensive specialty stuff alone. Merry Christmas

SMOKE! I thought you were gone for good! Did you ever glom onto a 650 for a project?
We've been colder'n a Wyomin' Widder over here, how's the water in New Castle?
