Post the most RECENT pic of you on your BIKE

At the risk of being slightly political.....OK American friends, you had better get going on that wall before those Mexican Pointy Boots come flooding over the Rio Grande and take over!!!

Hi Pete,
better that the US Border Nazis watch the major airports to spot those Australian crocodile skin riding boots, eh?
Remember the British TV series "Crocodile shoes"? I don't think it saw much North American screen time because
it didn't have subtitles to translate Jimmy Nail's Geordie dialect.

Indeed - I'm Canadian and I have difficulties with Gordie accents!

...as for those pointy skates...yeah baby!

In keeping to the spirit in which this thread was intended, and following Weekenders good example:

It's me on my 650 Special, today. Snow and below freezing weather on the other side of the garage door.

Yeah....women...can't live with 'em, can't live without 'em.

Must have been the Mailman.

......No, he lives in Arizona.....hmmmmm.

OK - aside from that - what's the deal on the snow? In Georgia? I thought you guys were the Peach State...

North Georgia has mountains. That's where I am. We occasionally get some snow and plenty of time to sit by the fire at least until the end of February. We got four inches of the Devil's dandruff on Friday night and the temp has not gone above freezing since.

Hmmmm...not too different from here in Windsor. Usually, we can start thinking about riding again in early March.

In the meantime, bundle-up and wear your woollies!

Yes it is. I ride all year around. Just not when there is snow and ice on the road. We get plenty of warm weather days here, even in winter.

Looking good there! um you are supposed to be on the bike....

I didn't think you Canadians were affected by the cold weather, haha!

Not funny at all given the current climate.
At the risk of being slightly political, there is too much hate in the world and ugliness to even joke about things. I am sure there are a few Mexicans or ppl of Mexican descent who probably post or lurk here.

Your statement is an example of cultural insensitivity that gave way to our annoying PC culture.

Well, all I can say is....as a Canadian - I find the above post to be unadulterated humour and really quite hilarious as it exploits nearly all of the stereotypes that people all over the world hold about us (except hockey and beer - which are, oddly, omitted). I do note, as did Mailman, that our PM is definitely being affected by the cold...or perhaps by the sight of a sweet young thing just out of the shot. I will add that, even if I didn't find it funny, I wouldn't care enough to try to pick yet another argument with people on a website about motorcycles, because like me, I am sure that the vast majority of them just don't take life that seriously. :shootme:

Ahhhhh, and here is a picture of the El-Cheapo(tm) voltage regulator-rectifier mount that I made for my '76 using a large hose clamp and two zip-ties. I tried as hard as I could to fit the unit inside the LH sidecover or mounted on the underside of the battery box (where the original rectifier would normally go) - but I guess my skills in geometry just weren't good enough. So as you can see, it is situated about 75-100 mm below the battery box and directly behind the engine and thus it gets a lot of air circulation which keeps things.....nice and coooooollllll. The other proviso was that I didn't want the mount to be too rigid because that would simply subject this component to a lot of vibration - which could eventually kill it - and so the hose clamp / zip-tie mount is just right and has survived several thousand km and about 6 months.

Cheers all,

Pete
