AACME Annual Show - April 9

Hmmm I've been to earlier shows. Well worth attending too. Barring the unforseen, I'll be there via the SG.

Whether on our 650s or another set of two wheels, Mailman and I will be at the show.

azman, we're meeting for breakfast beforehand. Care to join? Send me a PM.

We've got a little group together for this show, should be fun.

Azman857 coming up from Tuscon on his SG. Mailman on his 77, as long as today's brake project goes well. And me on my Stella, crossing fingers that burnt rectifiers are in the past.

Pago? Gracer? Anyone else? PM me if y'all want to meet us for breakfast before the show.

IDK...The SG's alternator is acting up. Might have to take the truck, darn it..GGGRRRRRRR!!! Checking it in a moment.

Brushes? You could try just giving the slip rings on the alternator a squirt of contact cleaner.....

....quick, easy and effective.

I changed then out recently. I'll head out and check shortly. Will check back in later and reveal what was found. I'm fearing the dreaded dead rotor. This one is about 2-3 yrs old and I have no spare handy.

Oh, bummer! You ain't got to tell me about charging troubles...

A meeting of three XS650s would be great, but do take the truck if in doubt. Better to arrive on four wheels than not at all.

Rotor at 5.7ohms. Thats a plus. Been looking for the original RecReg. Brushes seemed a bit stuck but got them free. It's under charging. Been charging battery when home. The SG has been running GREAT lately. Outside of the chargeing thing. I love this bike!

Put it on the charger tonight, leave thenheadlight off and go for it tomorrow!

Phx is 2hrs north of Tucson. I need to leave at 0630 or so and its still kinds dark. That H-4 sucks the amps. Gotta get in the shed and find the OG RecReg. Later.

Sorry Pete. Not myself right now. Didn't find the RecReg. Gonna have to take the truck dadburnit!GGGRRRRRRRRR!

Oh well - as DB wisely said: better to get there on four wheels than not get there on two.

Have a fun day and a burrito for me!

Pete

What a great day! Perfect riding weather, met new friends, no mechanical or electrical Gremlins. Couldn't ask for better. I'll let Mailman share his most exciting news.

Beautiful bikes guys - really nice! So glad the ride went well. Thats a lot of hard work that has paid off.

Pete

We really had a great time today. The weather was perfect. Started the day with breakfast at The Breakfast Club in downtown Pheonix ( Thanks to Daniel who really knows the downtown area) .
It was Daniel Black, AzMan ( Rudy) , and myself Mailman (Bob). We got to dine outside , it was beautiful and the company was great!
We then rode to the vintage bike show and swap meet and got to see a lot of great old bikes. I think it was almost more fun to walk around the parking lot and see what folks rode to the show. I can't believe I didn't get a photo of Rudy, I've been kicking myself ever since but here a couple of photos of Daniel and myself. Also Daniel was hinting at something earlier, the people who organized the show were walking through the parking lot and hanging ribbons on various bikes, just their way of saying " Nice Bike,"
I was surprised to find one hanging on my bike. I told Daniel they hand them out like cookies, no real reason. But it's already hanging up in my garage and ten years from now I'll be telling people I won that award for " Best in Show" Haha!
