Exactly - I've taken the position with my '76 that there is no "done". Enjoyment along the way is key once you've made the bike safe and reliable.

Wow - that IS a pretty picture RT.

You know, what you need on that '78? A pair of Resto's beautiful XS650 badges on the side covers. They're made of pewter and they look awesome!

They will DEFINITELY be on my cafe bike.

I just have to get past this ding-danged report so that I can play with my toys again!

Wow ! that xs emblem is Great ! Right on..and Michaelo, this thing rides fine for these country roads.. yes, fr brakes need a new line, but it starts one kick every where I stop.. Having a blast !

I will go for a ride today....nothing like it when they're running well, good to hear your bike is going like a train too. Resto's done some fine work, they would look great anywhere.....

LOL that looks like my country ! RT ! great looking machine ! glad she has an owner that cares about her !
....
Here's 2 Pics of my bike.... I havn't named her yet but I will.... every bike that is loved needs a name after all !
this is probably as far as I am going to take the restoration, because Money is in short supply.
this girl runs very well.... I have no complaints ....NOW. handling seams like riding a fat horse at times....but that's probably just me not being used to her..... yet......

Yes, very like Mt Shasta country.. and because of my riding here I don't refer to my bikes as "she names" XS's I've had are "Windy" , "Stormy" , and "Thunder" shown here which loudly rumbles the hills a bit.. XS650 Bikes set me Free ! unlike my X'es did Lol -RT

Thank you for your service. '80 SG's rock! You ride the wheels off that bad boy.

Thanks Guys !
I hope to put a few miles on her this summer if I can ever get liscnses on her !
but for now just knowing I have Freedom helps allot ! LOL nothing as relaxing as a senic bike ride through ranch land to me ! LOL

Hi Folks:

Well, I finally got that darned report done - what a relief!! Oh well, it helps pay the bills. I have spent this week catching up on my other work, but I'm there now and early tomorrow, I'm off on a 400 mile round trip on the ST1300 for the day so that should be fun.

I went out and took some photos of Lucille's new seat - I'm happy with the repair to the side panel (all the way round), and it will be durable.

I'd better get some sleep - we'll chat later.

Pete

um...... i get no pic here Pete !!!
....well I bet your butt will be sore tomorrow night and have to type standing up ! LOL
.... I've never found a motorcycle seat that I could set on all day without hurting a great deal..... it's the lack of movement I think,.... not that they are uncumfortable ... but on long rides man it gets bad !
but I'm getting smart ! my desk chair here is as hard as a rock so I figure I'll be able to ride a long way before my ass hurts on the bike !!!!!!!..... the problem is I can't sit infront of the computer longer than an hour without hurting ! .... I tell ya guys.... Life sux !!!!! LOL
