Hey there, this is me trying to make something cool out of that old little thing

Started with a bobbed out bike the previous owner had modifyed

welded back a stock rear end for the cafe racer look I was going for

Scored a set of stock spoked wheels

Sandblasted/powdercoated the hubs and bought new SS spokes and nipples along with a 18'' rear rim

I've been looking for some options for treating a set of slightly-rusted '81 wheels I have, and your blasting/powdercoating looks like something I could do. Is that a satin or gloss black powdercoat?
Those wheels don't seem to be the high-shouldered aluminum type as seen on the '75 and '76. Were they chromed? I can't tell by the pics. thanks.

The finish is called Ink Black, it's a deep gloss black. And yes they are aluminum. I do not know what is the year of the bike they come from but they are shouldered.

.....and they appear to be aluminum, not chromed steel. I imagine that sandblasting chrome could be problematic, with potential flaking off....

Sandblasting chrome is okay as long as the chrome isnt peeling off.

Installed the tail light

Made some brackets for the turn signals

Modified the turn signals so they would not stick out that much

My seat is getting upholstered today and I should get it back in two days
Hopefully I'll have the chance to try it on the road before the first snow falls, seems like we will get one hell of a winter up here this year... :banghead::banghead:/
