Me either. Just finished an 80 SG motor. Don't recall seeing them.

Are they the things that are pressed into the case to guide the case covers?

Not on the XS too big, the usual XS guides are hollow sleeves.
I like to keep some random parts in my pocket when visiting, always fun to slip a few mystery items into the "apart" box.:pimp:

:jk:

Yeah.... I'd never do something like that.......

Nor I. Hadn't even occurred to me until now. However...:devilish:

My oldest brother (83) has been married to his long-suffering wife for 60 years. She likes to do jigsaw puzzles. Chuck, being a member of our family, and therefore something of a dick, likes to pocket a piece here and there. Or substitute a piece from a different puzzle.

He told us about that the last time we made it to Michigan to visit. My wife (who does puzzles as well) gave me The Look and said "You WOULD die..."

Being a maintenance instructor for 15 yrs..... I sometimes couldn't help myself. One of the most important skills an aircraft mechanic needs is the ability to (quickly) realize he's in over his head... and holler for help. Saying "lets try it this way and see what happens" don't cut it when engines cost millions of dollars and lives count. Sometimes a hotshot student would come along... you guys know the type.... Mr. "I'm smarter than teacher." An odd bushing thrown into the mix would quickly tell me what they are made of. Did you holler for help?... or just look around, make sure nobody's lookin... and drop it in your pocket. It's a very telling little test... and yes, somewhat humorous. :D
And yeah... sometimes I just did it for sh$ts and grins...

I can't see how you could repair a plane responsibly with full confidence unless there was a half dozen inspections of the repair, by people who don't know each other, and somewhere in the chain is one of those menopausal fiends who only lives to make trouble. From airline accident reports it's surprising how much was repair error, plus I don't trust anybody anyway...
