Adios my two wheel friends.

When a member from washington pointed out a 79 standard for sale close to me, I said my plate was full. I got a PM from Dan "If you don't go get that bike RIGHT NOW I'm going to come up to Wisconsin and kick your butt around the block." (something to that effect) I went and bought it. It became "survivor"

When I said on my SG thread that one of my carbs was missing the odd size brass washer, Dan's simple reply was "PM me your address." 3 days later I had the washer.
I suspect there's tons of these stories out there...

a reality check for us. We'll all see you in the sweet by and by, God willing.

Yup - and NJ - THAT deserves a genuine...

So - the message for me is: ride your own ride and live your own life.

Reaching out: does anyone have any idea how to get some high resolution photos of Dan's (weekendrider) bike? I do not want to miss getting him in the calendar this year. Thanks in advance.

Dan's buddy is Skidz78 - he sent the Forum a message telling us that Dan had died.

Perhaps he can assist - the Moderators likely have some solid contact info for him.....

SHAWN - on that other matter - I have stuff on the way.

I agree, it is more about the person and not the bike. But I would hate to put his month together in the calendar just to have it really fuzzy when it gets printed. It may look great on screen but if it is low-res it will print distorted. Trust me.

I think we should include the pictures of Dan and his wife for sure. We can use Skull's montage if it works or I can recreate with high res photos just the same. Just trying to do my due diligence.

Thanks Shawn - good guidance for sure.

It's just too sad.......weekendrider THEN Robinc. It's happening more often than it used to. Most of us are getting to the age where it's not a total shock when one of us passes. Still.................it's sad to think about friends you'll never see or talk to again. Rest in peace weekendrider, you sir, were one of the good guys.

Don't worry if you can't get sharper photos. Show them in the context of the quick snapshots in time they were. You could do something like have them crooked with the newer overlapping part the older for one example. Then the eye doesn't expect studio quality.

I'm just as sad to hear about robinc, now. He didn't seem to post that much, but he read a lot. He thumbed up just about every post I made :) I remember a couple of funny interactions with him. Will miss him equally.
