Planning to attend the 2019 Vintage Yamaha Rally?
~ September 27-28-29-30, 2019

Now is the time to make your Reservations with the Iron Horse Motorcycle Lodge

Iron Horse is now taking reservations on a 1st come, 1st served basis for any available room (Cabin, Bunkhouse, RV Site & Tent Spot) for our Vintage Yamaha Rally weekend. Remember to mention you are 'Vintage Yamaha' because Iron Horse has blocked their entire facility exclusively for us. So we VYR folks have Nov 1st to March 31st to get ourselves booked. But if you really want a room we'd suggesting booking asap since they will likely fully book VYR again for 2019.

www.ironhorsenc.com/rates to fill out an online reservation request -or- call them at 828-479-3864

More info about the VYR Rally at www.vintageyamaharally.com

and about the Iron Horse Motorcycle Lodge at www.ironhorsenc.com

Reminder: you can make your Iron Horse room reservations now and as always, they will not charge you the first nights deposit until 60 days out (which is July 27th).
Don't miss out, come join the FUN

I really don't want to say anything because I'll jinx it. I've not been posting lately but have been lurking. My Moto Giro obsession has spoiled ALL my XS650 events because so far they have fallen on the exact same days. I'm in for the Spring Giro so there goes the Dogwood but damnit I really would like to do this one. Enough so.....I'm making reservations now. I absolutely LOVE Iron Horse.......been there many times. Haven't talked with Marty in ages so I'm looking forward to it.

Take care......as we've all been reminded of lately......you probably need to go ahead and DO the stuff you've been wanting to do......before you can't.

Well Gordon, there is no more Dogwood Rally. I'm in Memphis, so I'm not going to try to keep it going. VYR grows a bit every year, so hopefully, that will keep going. 2018 saw great growth among the XS650 community. I hope to see you next September!

Marty, Greg told me you were moving......but not where. He and I don't get to see each other often enough. I gota change that. The Giro stuff has been fun but I'm NOT good at it and haven't really felt like I'm fitting in with that crowd. I have made some new friends but it's been a struggle. NOTHING like the XS folks.......you could't ask for better people to hang with (XS folks) and they have made me feel welcome every time I've had the opportunity to join them. I've sent in my request for a room......hope to hear back tomorrow.

Hope you and yours are doing well and Memphis is suiting you.

Wonder if someone else could take up the Dogwood.........I'm kinda missing hosting an event and I already have a three state route mapped out in that area. My daughter and I worked on it one year. Greg and a few of our Brit bike friends rode it one weekend. At the time I was thinking I'd run the Three State Mountain Ride over there but it never panned out and that ride stayed in Blowing Rock.....I walked away from that one after hosting it for 15 years. I sorta miss the mother hen role.

Take care, your friend in NC, Gordon

WOO HOO.........I'm IN!!!!!! Just got word back from Iron Horse. They are so friendly and helpful, still has all my information after all these years and they treat you like you're family. Only place around here that even comes close is TWOS. ( The Dogwood Rally spot) We are very lucky to have places like that in business. Yea, I can't wait to try that Prime Rib again.

Happy as a little girl........see ya next fall.......Gordon in NC

Does everyone leave on Sunday or Monday? Are there activities on Sunday? First time attending.

Thanks

Al,
If you want to make the most of it, the last of us leave some time on Monday after breakfast. Most of the Sunday activity involves riding motorcycles and enjoying each other's company. I expect the VJMC will host a bike show on Saturday. So, you might have to chose to ride or show. Come early on Friday and ride as well. Some folks come in for the show only and leave once the trophies are handed out. Some just spend Saturday. Quite a few folks depart on Sunday morning, but the majority stick it out to the bitter end. We had some great riding on Sunday 2018.

What are y'all waiting for? We aren't getting any younger. Let's do this! Sellout by 15 January is our goal. After that, it goes to the chrome crowd! Do you really want a BMW in your parking spot? Or a Harley?
