This one has been on my shelf for a long time and I never used it. I did hear the bike it was on run but that was at least 10+ years ago but I`ve never tried it. I have no way of testing this so it is sold as is. $87.50 shipped to your door.

I just started to look at the photos and they disappeared?

yeah it is maybe a bit steep for a boyer unit and coil that isn't known to be working and doesn't include electronic advance. if they work that would be a reasonable price I reckon.
A brand new Micro Digital Boyer unit with electronic advance costs $150 + shipping and is a brilliant bit of kit

Hi Peanut. Could you post that link to the $150 new Micro Digital unit. I looked on the net and can`t find one for that price. I did do some research and the one I have supposedly has the advance just a early red box version. I did also find a test for these to see if they will fire the plugs. I might give that a try.

Sincere apologies halfmile I meant £150 GBP not $ 150 Dollars .doh... Thats the trouble with not paying proper attention when trying to convert everything from UK to US all the time !

The last price I got was from the Boyer Bransden site which is based in the UK it didn't include shipping . Just checked and it is £159 which is approx $204

If you can find a way to test the unit then it would be worth every dime of what you are asking I reckon
.

Thanks peanut. The cheapest one I could find in the US was $229/free shipping. There is a test on youtube I might try.

If you really want to know how good the parts are you can contact Boyer and send parts to them and they will test for a fee. They are nice people been using there products since the 70's. Just bought a new one and it was $229.00 on fleabay. If they don't work your selling a coil and a rod.

Peanut, FYI all Boyer-Bransden ignitions feature automatic advance. Early black box units advance the spark in 4 steps. Micro Digital (red box) units advance the spark in a continuous curve. Micro Power ignitions (red box early, blue box late) use a 0.6 ohm coil and include it in the kit; that's the only difference.

thank you .thats surprises me.......like most of us I wasn't aware of that !........ I couldn't find information about the introduction of automatic advance.anywhere on their website. I therefore assumed wrongly that automatic advance was introduced by Boyer in the 90s along with digitisation........

Hi halfmile sorry to se that you still haven't sold your Boyer .....I feel a bit responsible as I did shoot my big mouth off about the potential risk.

I think you might be able to make it a more appealing option by a couple of simple tests. You could verify the coil pack by substituting it on your own bike . If the coil works thats a significant portion of the package verified.
The ignition stator pcb board with pickup coils is easily verified by using a multimeter across both the coils. The coils are very common generic items and cheaply replaced anyway .
That just leaves the red timing & advance box . If you were in the UK I'd offer to substitute it on on my bike . Why not ask if there is someone near you that has a Boyer system ........ ;)

2) No bitching about prices. If you think someone is asking too much for something, don't buy it. If you need to comment about a price that is too high, PM the seller and be polite
