Took my car for an oil change and when I got it home, I was checking it over and discovered that the mechanic left out a special fastener. I called the garage , they said they couldn’t find it and said they’d have to order it, then I will have to go back again. Grrrr.

Then our kitchen faucet decided to spring a leak all over the counter and inside the cabinet. This is a four month old , expensive faucet that we had professionally installed. So we called the plumbers back that installed it, they took it apart and said, not our fault, the faucet is defective. It’s also out of warranty. So back to the hardware store to buy another expensive faucet and tomorrow we have another expensive plumber coming to the house. Grrrr.

So now I’m tired and cranky and thinking what an aggravating day it’s been, I go and sit in my recliner and our little dog jumps up in my lap, and I’m thinking awww she came to make me feel better......that’s when she barfed on me. o_O

Some days..... you know? So how’s your day going?

I've had days like this lately, Bob.
It all seems to happen on one day.

But then, the clouds part, like today, and I put on a good record (The Immortal Otis Redding, 1968) and all is good. :)

We've had some really pleasant weather this week.

Then it hit.

Last night, howling winds, temps dropped to 30°F, snow flurrys.

Woke up around 3:00 am to the strange sound of absolute silence, and darkness.

Power outage. No heat.

Had to fix a power coupling out there. Brrrrrrrrr.

Finally, back on-line...

Never think that thing can not possibly get any worse.
Tomorrow is a new day. You might want to think about staying in bed.:p

I feel for you Bob, but I would call the manufacturer of that 4 month old faucet and bitch, bitch and then bitch some more. Tell them you like
to write reviews and would really like to write one on their product very soon and will. I'd almost bet they will make it good.
Tomorrow is Sat. and a new day..:)

I installed a hi-end Delta in my kitchen 6 months ago (its cheap Chinese crap, actually), and it started dripping a few weeks ago. After 10 days of complaints and photodocumentation, they finally sent me a new one. Complaint is stressful, but ultimately satisfying, in my experience.

The faucet that failed is also a Delta. The plumber that came out today said they used to always be a good faucet, but here lately he’s been taking out a bunch of them that have failed.
And yes the plumber and Home Depot , both told us that Delta stands behind their faucet and would likely replace it, but we need a kitchen faucet right now. It’s not just dripping , it’s flooding the counters and under the cabinet, so bad we had to shut the water off. Getting a replacement mailed to us a week after we’ve already replaced it didn’t make much sense to me.

So sorry to hear about your frustrations Bob - what a PITA. For faucets, my cousin the plumber always insists on Moen and the beauty of them is that there’s is a lifetime warranty on the cartridge.

I must say that my day went rather well. I got my new knee up to 112 deg. from my previous best of 95 deg. AND I am learning to climb stairs again. Yah!!

All right Pete! So happy to hear of your progress! Onward and upward!

I was doing electrical maintenance at a factory in Montana and it was about 30F. 30F below effin zero. Wind chill about 100 below. I went up with a mechanical crew to fix something out on a roof, can't remember what it was but they were out there for maybe fifteen minutes and the wind up there was literally at least like 65 mph. Me and another guy stayed inside, but kept the door open for moral support. Could not hear my radio for the wind howling. Instrumentation guy had been paging me to fix a button somewhere. Got out of trouble by saying I was up on a roof freezing my ass off.

Yeah, we all get days like that Bob.

My day was supposed to be taking the XS to a bike show in the next town to us.

You wouldn't believe it, It hasn't rained here in almost 2 months but down it came last night and this morning.

No way was I taking my spiffo polished up bike out in that crappy weather.

I felt sorry for the organisers, but there's always next year.

My 15 year old pull out spout Delta sprung a leak in the hose assembly. Bodge fixed it, got online with Delta and 3 days later a new "revised" hose assembly showed up, No Charge, warranty replacement. We have very hard water, I plumb cold water at "drinking faucets" to hard, not softened, water. About once a year I take that faucet apart and free up the stuck by lime cold side seal. I sold Delta AND moen for 30 years Always preferred the Delta. The Moen cartridges don't like hard water either and can get REALLY stuck in the housing. I used to have a Moen cartridge extractor. IIRC it had a slide hammer type action. Back in the day Delta was only sold to plumbers through wholesalers, and was all American made. Home Centers sold Peerless (Delta house brand) they were cheapened, made overseas and sucked. We had a wholesaler with special Delta pricing available only to manufactured housing accounts, we got in on that deal, Delta looked the other way and I sold THOUSANDS of faucets a year out of one store. The local plumbers HATED us.
Delta changed an all brass, then all stainless ball assembly to nylon with thin stainless inserts. Customers would come in: "my faucet's spraying water" My first question was "A teenage boy in the house?" Answer was invariably a strange look and a yes. Teenage boys slam dunk the faucet off, tearing the stainless insert off the nylon. Would sell those customers an upgrade all stainless ball. Warranty parts were available but we sold a lot of parts. The thing was Delta had inexpensive individually replaceable parts, seals were a buck a pair. Moen; you bought a complete, pricy cartridge.
11 below this morning, driveway is a long steep sheet of ice. feeding two wood stoves 24-7 (that and the pee pants dog why I'm up at 4AM) Walk like a duck season in full swing here.
Bob; the loving dog puking in your lap cracked me up, sorry!
