I'm an idiot...

DE "Chainsaw cuts MUCH better when you put the chain on the right way around..."
Don't clean a handheld saw chain on the wire wheel, a "that's gonna hurt" moment, 14 stitches.

When spinning the freshly sharpened chain by hand to check the tension...wear gloves. Especially if you're on blood thinners...

Oh well Hell,
We’ve switched up to injuries! Now we’re getting somewhere! I wish I hadn’t deleted my photos :laugh2:

About three years ago I was using this big 48 volt long bar cordless hedge trimmer on some really over grown , tall brush. I got the bar caught in some falling brush and in the blink of an eye the trimmer flipped around on me and bit the end of my left index finger. It went through my leather gloves like butter and sliced my index finger lengthwise right through my finger nail. I went and got it stitched up, bought a finger splint and back to work the next day.
Ahh......good times. o_O

I guess if we're talking injuries..... I was using a large drill press industrial-size don't you know. I was drilling holes in a bunch of quarter inch aluminum plates and of course I was wearing a glove on my left hand because the aluminum was getting hot. (in case you don't know when drilling on a drill press you should not be wearing gloves) I was drilling through three plates at a time which will leave a whole lot of drill tailings attached to the drill bit. much to my surprise the taillings snatch the the tip of my glove on my left thumb. By the grace of God I was able to pull my hand out of the glove before my thumb and hand got wrapped around the drill bit. my thumb was broke at the very base of the thumb nail. I went to the local pharmacy bought an aluminum thumb splint and went back to work. I didn't even tell the boss what happened. anyway I learned my lesson I've never worn gloves to drill anything again.

Some people should never be allowed near a power tool..........That being said i have cut the power cord when using my circular saw at least 3 times.........Always have used an industrial Power junction box with a cut out switch

Doug,

You are such a dumb-ass................

I have only done this once.

Blacked out the house, I nearly shit my pants.Always aware now as to where the power cord is.

My guardian angel was on my side that day.

well this is all going a bit off topic but what the heck right !:)

I’ve had a number of lucky escapes in my life and all of them were down to not paying adequate attention.

When In my teens working in the construction industry I was frequently out of work between projects so for a few weeks at a time I took any work I could find to pay the bills , even film work and modeling!, but thats another story

I remember at one point working in a Rubber Factory in London . At one of the stages in the rubber making process the black rubber was squeezed flat between a sandwich of thick cotton sheets coated with chalk . The cotton sheets were fed off of huge drums into the machine which was about 80 feet long. A the end of the machine the cotton was rechalked and rolled onto more drums ready for the next run.

The cotton sheets were about 8 feet wide and about 100 feet long and the drums must have weighed half a Ton and were carried around and loaded on the machine by overhead cranes and rails running throughout the factory.

My job was to stand at the end of this huge machine and occasionally pull the edge of the cotton sheets to prevent folds and tucks in the cotton sheet whilst it was being gathered up on a drum at the end of the run. Chalk was applied to the cotton being rolled onto the drums and I was literally covered in white chalk from head to toe all day long

Needless to say it was an incredibly boring job (is this the most boring job ever ?), I spent most of the time daydreaming.

One day I was pulling the edge of the sheet to straighten it and managed to get my whole hand trapped in the edge of the rotating drum of cotton !... within a split second the rotating drum had twisted me off my feet as the rotating drum of cotton pulled me into the machine.

There were huge red STOP buttons dotted around the machine but it all happened too fast for anyone to get to a stop button. Just as I was sure I was a gonna ,I clenched my fist really hard and the cotton sheet split , releasing my hand . To say I needed a change of underwear was an understatement.

- - - Saaaaaayyyyy, you don't suppose....nah, I couldn't be THAT stoopid could I?
"Yeah, ya could, Boy Genius. In fact, this puts you in the running for Moron of the Month!"
Original problem was a blown tail light filament in the bulb...

Hi Downeaster,
try blowing the bulb while testing a salvaged Yamaha signal light on a 12Volt battery because you forgot it came off a 6Volt 2stroker.
Wish I'd remembered what bike they came off before I blew all 4.
