are any of these small cracks or micro-fractures an issue for reliability if I use this cover? or should it not have any cracks? I engraved a shit ton on it and then cleaned it up a bit and found these...…..I need to take my old cover off to check my clutch anyway for it having trouble finding neutral when engine is hot. SO I thought I could put the new cover on after all that. Is the engraving too deep? I really want to know if I can use this or not, I can take more pictures.

From the photos the first two look like casting flash, unsightly but flash does not reduce the integrity of the cover.
The third looks like the case sustained a blow from the outside that has deformed the wall of the case. I have a similar mark on my road bikes cover from the rear brake lever when it fell on its side.
If it is not leaking oil you could leave it be or weld the inside of the case if it is.
Be aware that welds on the outside of cases when filed back and polished will be a different colour to the case and can be easily seen.

I shouldn't worry about it . The casing on my 55 year old Italian Lambretta is worse and as for the later Indian castings well.......

You would be batter ....batter ?? doh .....better off using low temperature aluminium to weld and fill the cracks if you're concerned . Welding is likely to damage an old casing especially as it has been deeply engraved. It could just crumble . Low temp Ali can be done with a plumbers blowtorch .

Ok awesome!! I'll probably put it on when I have time and see if any leakage occurs. So I can get a plumbers torch and carefully sort of "melt" the cracks into some what of a solid from the inside? I probably wont do it but yeah lol I guess I'll have to look at it a bit because though I think it's kind of cool I really didn't put a bunch of cool detail on it. So I might buy another blank one if anyone has a spare lol
