Mystery pin

[SPB]

Rebuilt the top end of 1976 650c, got everything put together and by damnit have a leftover part that looks very similar to the locating pin on the auto advance to the cam shaft. It’s a little fatter, doesn’t fit in the same hole. Any ideas where this mystery pin goes before I find out at 70MPH?

A pic and some dimensions would help.

The 3 pins used in the advancer system are supposed to be 3mm diameter (0.118"), but I've heard of folks forcing 1/8" (0.125") in there...
