I’m really enjoying your tales Moabite! You certainly do live in a special place.

Is the Suzuki GS an 850 or a 1000?

Pete

You know, all I’ve heard about 1970-80s Suzuki GS models is alternator and wiring troubles but my ‘79 GS850G gave me zero grief. Not one single repair in more than ‘70,000 miles except oil change and tires.

I don’t recall ever even having a light bulb fail anywhere on the bike.

IMG_20190630_150145.jpg
....my barefoot bike on other side of landlord house, forgot it was still here...
IMG_20190630_150115.jpg
...broken parts on every bike i owned, if it not one thing....
...wheels, suspension, frames, electrics, motors...worn all these parts down to breaking point some time...but having other bikes to ride makes a bike down more easily acceptable to have to fix...
...lots times had new bikes break, so no complaints on the 82 suzuki...
...i had this chinese scooter i buy for $10 that i used as an adventure bike... but talk about goofy intermitent electric problems, stranded me too many times, then embarrassing load of shame in back of some good deeders truck..
... I made it famous in its time, it went a lot of places (with some paddling assistance)...very collectable and it could be yours for the right price...

Discretion is the better part of valor. Live to fight another day.

...but my pants and shoes were already wet...
... 2 more that direction and then 4 more crossings on way home would have been too much...
...big problem too many itchy bug bites now, next time i spray down with RAID!!!
