I forgot I was dealing with The Baron of Baraboo. :geek:
Barbaroonians sure are tricky fellows

No, I hadn't come to that solution for this triple 'til after we all started bandying around ideas! Remember my first plan was removing the bearing to add a shim... You all helped! Thanks. Forks are on (for) now, more decisions to come. :umm:
You may not know it, but I tend to collect a few things ... So I'm trying to (mostly) build this using what's "round" already.

Virago maybe :yikes:
Like our beloved 650 twins, Virago motors are near bullet-proof. Yamaha used them in 1100 Roadstars after Viragos went out of production. Unlike Harleys, they used twin carbs, which were not easy to remove from their nesting spot in the 75 degree vee between the cylinders - for awhile, until I learned the tricks, I thought they had to pulled out through the exhaust pipes LOL. The carbs used main jets one size apart, so you could up-jet both carbs by buying only one new jet.

Front end from a 2005 YZF600R, features externally adjustable spring preload, rebound, and damping. Blue spot 4 piston calipers. Front wheel/fender to be determined. Maybe on the hydro clutch... Prolly going to need riser blocks for the tapered bars. This won't be your father's XS650. Just ordered a selection of SS lines for the brakes.
