XS650 No Theme Build

As Butthead would say. “ That’s the coolest thing I have ever seen” huh huh huh huh”

The seat from CounterBalance arrived today. Double boxed and bubble wrapped. Made it all the way from RI to KS with no damage. Amazing!!:yikes: That`s all I needed to finish this project up. I started this build in May of 2018. This is the longest build yet? Finally off the lift and out in the light of day. Finished for 1 hr and already a new bike is on the lift.:jk:.

i know , i know ..........EPIC is a word that so so played out by kids these days.

In your case- the skills and the results you are able to achieve, with all your builds, is truly EPIC, (timeless, marvelous, and very meaningful to our hobby.)

WOW ! WONDERFUL RESULT ! Good luck with your health.

Another great looking bike Halfmile. You must have a shed full of them by now. Looking forward to see your next one.

Started getting another set of wheels ready for paint (RED). First the tire removal. Piece of cake.:yikes: One more day of detailing and its ready for me to paint or change my mind again.:shootme: Plan is for dual discs, new tires F&R, drop the forks 1 1/2"-2" and a lot more detailing. We`ll see.

Really great work! All the details come together really nicely! Inspirational!

Next project you say? Not an XS650 frame? You've got my attention! What are your thoughts? :)

Really leaning towards Board Tracker but haven`t made the final decision yet. Still up in the air.
I didn`t like the looks of the No Theme bike so it`s been disassembled for some changes.

No... That is such a beautiful bike! Well, it's true what they say, we are our own worst critics. Great work though!

Almost finished again. Got a lot of the changes made but I`m experiencing "Mail order Mayhem" Waiting on front brake lines and a couple of fittings. 15 minutes to install and 15 days to get here. Story of my life. Calendar voting will start soon so those parts better show up Pronto!!

Yes, I fell victim to the motorcycle "Monkey see Monkey do". Your 2 disc conversion was inspiring. I did drop the forks another 1 1/2". I think the stance looks a little better.

It looks great Phil. I especially like the red wheels :agree:
:bow:I think this is your best build so far...:bow2:

The front brake lines and fittings finally got here today. Installed and brakes bled. If it would just stop raining I will get some better pics for the calendar vote.

Hi halfmile,
I can tell you about the "something with a little door" because my Heritage Special also has one.
It's a container for the factory-supplied security chain that uses the bike's ignition key to work it's lock.
Most likely the chain itself was long gone or you'd have wet yourself laughing at it.
The chain is more suitably sized to be a dog leash than a bike security chain.
So long as the dog don't weigh more than 20 lbs.
Sorry for the thread dredge, but I just came across this post.
Holy crap, I have the chain that came with my bike! I'd just assumed that the key was lost many years ago. I had no idea it was keyed to the ignition! This just made my day 😃

I’m not sure what it’s good for. A conversation piece?
