This evening we finished up installing lights & power in the stable, super happy with the progress made in the last 4 weeks from a corner in a repurposed stable into a little fully functioning workshop space!

I couldn’t of done it without the help of my ozzy dwelling brother casually surveying his handiwork here

Popping in to comment on a few things... Lol

Your xs looks to be in just about the same phase of life as mine right now. Except you've chopped more... I REALLY like your motorcycle lift/stand. First I've seen of its kind. Do you have blueprints/a walk around of it???

Mini fridge is a must. For sure.

Last comment that comes to mind: are the bars the drag bars from TC Bros? I have them, and yours look very similar.

My thoughts exactly Mailman! I’m really excited to spend some of the coming winter evenings fettling away in there. I think we got this all done just in time to as the nights have noticeably started to draw in.

I found the plans for the lift/stand on here but quickly deviated from them. I’m happy to take the measurements and draw you a blueprint if you like?

The bars in the photo are Speedster bars from Hughs Hand Built, I’m not actually going to be using them as they were bought very early on in my build and as times gone on my direction has changed a little.

blueprints and some measurements would be cool, Im most interested in the angle you used for the ramp side of the stand, and of course, length of the flat part as well. I may come up with an idea to expand upon that design, perhaps making it adjustable as far as height? whatever you got, if you send it my way, I'd be happy to brainstorm a way to reinvent the wheel for myself! Thanks!

I’ve dropped the frame back to my friend Rick who’s helping me with my fabrication and engine rebuild for a little more work. Whilst I’m waiting for that back I thought I’d work on the TX750 swingarm I have.

With the help of a different friend we began the the process of cleaning up and smoothing out the swingarm. Weld was added to build up material before attaching with flap discs.

The ‘gusset’ was asymmetrical, about 1/4” more of an opening on the right hand side. This is we given a ‘nip n tuck’ before welding. The opposite side needed a little fettling to pull in tighter too.

The next stage is plenty of time spent with emery cloth and a Dremel.

Thinking of adding more material to the axle mount slots?

Well I used TIG to close up my gaps and it pulled in about 5mm. Your MIG put more heat in there so I suspect it pulled in as much or slightly more. At the least I'd fit the wheel and spacers and see where you're at before you start putty and paint. Let me measure a couple swingarms and I'll put the dimension up here.

OK.... first one is the same as yours with the open axle plates.... 215mm.
Second was old style with closed axle plates... 214mm. Compare yours and see where you're at.

No... it's pretty certain your swingarm got pulled in slightly from the heat. It's just that I don't know anything about the 750 swingarm so I don't know what the dimension was to start with. All I can confirm is the dimension of the 650 arm. If you're putting the rear back together with 650 parts, that 215mm is still probably the dimension you want to shoot for.
