THIS, I'm thankful for!

Well, regardless of how you celebrate it, from me up here in the True North Strong and Free to all of my American friends: a sincere wish for a safe and happy Thanksgiving with all of your friends and family.

Kind regards to you all,

Pete

We celebrated Thanksgiving a day early, on account of our daughter being an Emergency Dept. RN having to work Thursday (sick and injured people don't take days off...). I'm thankful for having my family (me, Mrs., the daughter, her husband the Lieutenant, son, and mother-in-law [a real sweetheart]) together to celebrate, give Thanks, and eat too much, but mostly, me giving Thanks for still being on this side of the grass. Six years ago, during the peak of treatment for a very nasty form of throat cancer (almost died a couple of times), me, trying to swallow food, it was all I could do to eat a sliver each, of everything everybody else was eating. I have a lot to be thankful for. I'm cured now (knock wood!), six years cancer-free, and if I learned anything, it's live pedal-to-the-metal, fear nothing ('cause I've already heard the scariest s**t there is), and thank God every day for waking me up in the morning, and giving me another day. I will finish "The Basketcase" ('75). It was one of the things that kept me motivated to beat the "C". Amen.

If you don't want to overeat why not try a Thankstini with you holiday hors d'oeuvres
Cranberry juice, potato vodka, and a bouillon cube......tastes just like a turkey dinner.

Let us all be grateful to the people that make us happy.
This site and community "ROCKS" ! ( so does my new Calender - represents the ultimate in art, culture, knowledge, technology and a trip to the alter of success )

Thanksgiving Day marks 28 years remission {cured} for me..........Went in hospital on Halloween and got out Thanksgiving day. Leukemia..........

Congrats, Jax!

It's been a long, slow process but it seems to me like we're beating that miserable son of a bitch, Cancer, at least a little more often.

Yes! Congratulations Jax! :) 15 years cancer free for me! It was a life changing event. You gain a whole new appreciation for things , having gone through something like that.

Good for you Jax!
It was small, but I had one (just a basal cell carcinoma) removed the other day - and more to go. Keep at it.
