Thinking 'bout this wheel, I did a trial fit. The axle is plug and play, needs spacers made. Calipers are just touching the wheel....
Still in flux but starting to gel.
GS500 rear wheel and brake 130/70/17 tire 3.5" rim. bolt circle will handle XS650 small sprocket.

Front end looks a bit like a horse.

Probably will have lots of horsepower after the engine is upgraded.
Possibly a suitable name would be "uma" which is Japanese for horse.

Looks like expediency will win, found a pair of progressive shocks in the bins, 12 1/2" eye to eye and the lower eye is offset which solves the old Radian swingarm shocks not parallel when mounted on the XS650 issue. One eye is a bit tweaked but should be easy to "re-align" Looks like I will need to just skiv about 1/4" off the sprocket carrier to line up the front and rear sprockets. Will need to have a custom sprocket made cuz None of the Zookies with this pattern used below a 39 tooth and I need to be down in the 31-32 tooth range, The 130/70/17 has a 24" OD vs. about 26" for a 110/90/18 or 25" for 130/90/16 Good news is the chain will still clear the carrier even at 31 tooth.

Just found this thread, catching up.
Going back a few posts - So, to solve the "stem is to long to snug up the bearings" issue, you machined a flat on the bottom of the bottom triple and then pressed it a little further onto the stem?

Chucked the stem/triple in the lathe and turned off the weld. pressed the stem down and rewelded.
Eagle eyes! Yeah was messing with using those, they are SO cool looking, clearance is pretty tight.
Ah. Should've realized it was welded. Nice fix!

But I've done it before with nothing more than an angle grinder...Was thinking that she'd shake too, but Nope, just spun it fairly slow, really, not an issue.
Maybe it's just the angle of your photo but the shocks still look cocked inward on the bottom, especially the left one? I don't have a Radian arm but do use offset shocks. I step the left one out (helps with chain guard clearance) .....

I've just spent a couple hours messing with shocks, swing arm, axle, centering wheel, stuff. Gaining but not done.
Need to get the swing arm spread a little. Or shorten axle assembly somewhere. I spread swingarm 3/4" with all thread nuts and washers but it returned to original dimension. I turned out the ID of some stainless washers to fit the top studs at the frame, had two on each shock, backed off to one.
