What have you done to your XS today?

Thanks to @5twins for the suggestion, I picked up a set of VW spark plug wires.

Blue was cheaper than the other available colors so I went with that.

I used a portion of the VW rubber boot and slid it over the wire as to maybe add extra protection... I guess hahaha

Trimmed and connected. Looks great to me.

Vetter Quicksilver is a good choice for middleweight touring bike.....very easily sold....
Didn’t even think about that. Gonna have to source a decent headlight before I even think about selling it.

need to find the wiring diagram for the lights also, I’m just excited to finally have a bike!

She hasn’t ran in over 7 years, took the tank off, dumped the gas, used some carb cleaner and new gas and she fired up right away after putting her on the battery tender.

Conrad- depending on the style you are looking for, I’ve seen some really nice aftermarket units on eBay by seller Daytrader-07. They ship from Vietnam but has had good reports for quality. I believe the brand name is Texavina. There’s a few members here with the units. Use the search function at the top right of your screen, it’s your best friend here.

I feel bad because I told my grandma that ugly thing has got to go!

really not sure what to replace it with at this point.
Get yourself some very short shorts and a tank top. You'll be stylin'!

The stock seat for those looks great! The stock grab rail might be a challenge to find.

Texavina direct bolt on seats for that bike. Superbike bars and a cafe seat and it's transformed!

Yeah I really like the way the stock seat looks!

first step is to get her running properly! Got a new throttle cable and clutch cable on the way currently. Hopefully that’ll be a step towards it running right.

RE: #6900
Started her up. Took a couple shots of carb cleaner. OK more than a couple. It's going to take a few trips to clean that sooty plug. She sounded good when she was hitting on both cylinders. Just might try to take her to Carl Jr for breakfast. If it's not raining.

Texavina Vietnamese seat. Installed in 15 minutes. Nice quality.

Yes, gorgeous seat and bike! Very Thruxton! I'm gonna try to get up your way next summer. I used to live in North Jersey and used to take short day trips Upstate with my other Yamaha friends, usually not any farther than the Catskills. But then later with kids I used to spend time in the Adirondacks around Lake George and Lake Sacandaga and White Face Mountain. No bike then, but I've been thinking about the roads up there for a long time.
Only went to Syracuse once for the Mile races in 75. Stay warm up there. Remember, "Bridge Ices Before Roadways"! Be safe!
