'Dude! That poor, neglected puppy looks typical of a long-forgotten toy, left to languish, unloved, in someone's barn/shed. It looks very, very original, and needs a new daddy to bring it back to it's former beauty! Contact the PO again, and remind them they'll have more $$ for Christmas shopping!

PO sez: "It's been stored in a garage. It does not run and has not since my husband just stopped using it in '95. It is not seized up. I'll have to check the tank inside and fork tubes when I get home. You are welcome to come see it. We are near Chittenango Falls in Cazenovia. My husband may be around during the day if needed. Has title"

Jerry; Wish I had room for another. I have 4 XS650's and the '06 FJR1300 on the road, a '74 TY250 (in the winter workroom) and a '73 DT250 for the backyard, a '69 Bonneville still in the living room but begging me to put it back on the road.

But you, Jerry, need a bike to ride. I'll bet you could pick this '74 XS up for $450.

I know, right? But I have 3 Xs's already, that don't run ("The Basketcase" - a '75 - is currently reduced to its constituent parts), at another garage, because I have no room for them at home. At this rate, I might get to a 4th bike if I live to be 100! Whadyagonnado?

I always thought this one was a very very nice build. Hope it goes to a fellow forum member. Great bike and Good Luck with your sale.

Norton 850 Commando in Phoenix. 15 years ago I put on a hard search ( locally ) for a Norton. I looked for two years, talked to everybody I could find in the vintage bike scene. All I could find was basket cases or bikes that guys wouldn’t sell. Boy they sure have gone up since then. This is a beautiful, low mile example.

Yeah, Bob, those old Nortons may be rare as Unicorns, but, man, they are fast! They look like such prim & proper (bespoke?), civilized motorbikes, but they scream like banshees out for blood! Big motor, light weight everything else... how can it not be fast. Get one before they're gone. There's one! Ooooops, it's gone... :wink2:
