I was going to order a clutch repair kit from mikesxs because when i shift first through 3rd gear it hits kinda hard, especially in first gear. like sometimes it grinds a little when I'm trying to downshift. Unless I'm not supposed to down shift from 4th to 1st to slow down quickly if I have to???? BUT, it doesn't hit so hard when I'm in idol. So I took the cover off because I needed to for my new one (yes I'm showing it off:smoke:), and I have these pictures, which doesn't seem to look super bad to me. Maybe my springs are just worn?

A bit of shift clunking is normal, gets a bit louder if the clutch is dragging.

Drop a 16oz hammer onto your car's hood, from about 3ft up. If your shifting sounds like that, then maybe look into the clutch drag...

Listen to this video.

You'll hear 2 clunks just before rollout.
The first is the sidestand swinging up.
The second is entry into 1st gear.

Normal sounds...

Yeah it does sound like that, a bit louder even, but more when the clutch is warmed up. It's starting to do it in second a bit. I bought a couple friction plates in case the teeth were warn down but it doesn't look like it. Probably just a bad adjusted clutch?

New or at the very least freshly oiled clutch cable, if it won't easily slide in and out with little effort the cable is toast.. Clutch lever removed from perch pivot checked for wear, hint it's worn out. Cable routed smoothly, minimal gentle bends. Worm removed cleaned inspected greased reinstalled freeplay set. NOW if you still have issues open the clutch pack.
