What have you done to your XS today?

Well, it definitely isn't perfect, and I’m not even sure if the paint is going to cure properly because of the temp, but here it is. My phone camera makes everything look much better than it does in real life. I used a brush and hand painted the recessed areas of the holes black before clearing it. I thought that little touch would really set off the gold. Can’t wait to see it back on the bike!

Took the yam out for a 25 mile round robin to test my repair of the Engine Stop Switch. A perfect run with a short stop to take a pix of the road side wisteria. Love the pull-backs!

Yo! TZ
Took the Honda out and pulling back into the drive noticed the volt meter flashing 11.3 V. Hummm, lost the charging system. ( And I was afraid I was gona have nothing to do! But rain coming in again so....
Hey you’ve got a really good lookin bike there! I am so happy you have that grab rail on back! I’ve been thinking about getting one for a while but wasn't sure how it would look on my bike! Thought it would give the bike a more classic, old school look. Looks like I was right!

( Sorry TZ. Was trouble shooting honda) Yeah, I like it's looks. I can get a good grip for pushing the bike around,. The signals come off their frame mounts and mount higher and a bit more forward directly to the grab bar.. I really want a luggage rack like Mailman has but really hard to find.

Besides the great look. Having a wrap around grab bar comes in handy more than expected just moving the bike around too.

Came across a deal today on an old Mercury type MotionPro carb synchronizer.

well that just cinched the need for the dual vacuum barb intake boots for my 79. It actually has 77 boots on it now and lacks any.
I use to really enjoy sync'n four cylinder Yamahas with a setup just like this.
Was going to just make one for the petcock on the 79 but... Again my 78E lost its parts to the cause. All fine because as time goes by so does my own personal liking.
Off came the air box halves, original hoses, intake boots, and the twin outlet breather.
See the 79 project has swayed me away from my "close to original as possible" frame of mind on my long term 78E project too.
I'm staying on the slight custom path here on
;)

Ditto on the luggage rack! Every time I get on ebay my standard sweep is as follows-
Xs650
Xs650 luggage rack
Cadillac hearse
Schott perfecto 44

TZ, is your case guard a two piece unit that slips together in the middle and bolts on or is it one piece?
