“Garage built, shed built”... stable built!

I’ve had quite a productive evening tonight. Got the other leg that was causing me grief apart.
My hex socket was 10mm too short to reach the lower damper rod bolt. I sacrificed a 10mm ball-end Allen key to make this. The box section didn’t locate easily inside the stanchion, every time I put a spanner to it, it seems to dislocate so I drilled a hole through so a screwdriver could be used in stead of a heavier wrench.

This leg was more of a mess than it’s partner, there’s sludge I can’t shift easily so I’ll be making 5twins recommendation for a swabbing rod.

When I removed the clip that holds the seal in place it broke apart as it was badly corroded, it’s left a path of destruction inside the fork leg.

How should I best attack this? A small nylon or brass brush on my Dremel?

I also spent an hour on the other leg with a blue compound and loose G quality mop

Anybody have any experience or insight into taking my pre-load adjuster assembly apart, I’d like to have the blue components re-anodised and thought it wise to ask before I delve in.

Replacement parts for rebuilding my forks arrived. It’s so obvious I’m in deep when I’m genuinely excited to open up the package containing them!

I still need to take measurements of the o-rings and copper crush washer and order them. Any suggestions on where to buy good quality?

I also need fork oil, the manual recommends Yamaha Fork and Suspension Oil 01 when I search for it this is the first hit https://www.motorcyclepartswarehous...MI6NKIgfOf6QIVFODtCh2ifATVEAQYASABEgJY5vD_BwE

Is this the stuff?
