All in all, a good ride, but 200 miles is a LOT for the first real ride after a Winter's layoff. The ol' derriere is barkin' at me...(waiting breathlessly for the Usual Suspects to go with that one...)

Have you looked at any aftermarket seats? My old Suzuki V-Strom had a real ass killer of a seat. I replaced it with on made by Seargent, the difference was nothing short of amazing.

First major farkle I did was a Corbin seat to replace the fine "Seating by Torquemada" OEM plank. Just old age and (shocking, I know...) packed on a few pounds over the Winter.

So you bait the hook and not expect to get a bite? I'm not touching that. Doesn't smell right! What?

Sorry, must've been the jalapenos on the sub I had for lunch...

DE--Ah yes, black fly season.......

tim

Yup, the bastiges are out in full force. Went for our usual walk this morning and got twice the usual exercise batting away the gnats and black flies.

I think the big splotch on the face shield was a May Fly. Must've got him right after lunch too cuz he really splattered.

But do your black flies have tail numbers?

Just spent two hours in the recliner watching a guy repair a John Deer lawn tractor. What have y'all done to me.
Laying around in a recliner is not our fault.
Yeah, yeah, we know...everything in Texas is bigger. :poke::boxing:

But do your black flies have tail numbers?

*looks down* Well, not everything is bigger.

PS - this past winter Lakeview and I splurged on a pair of Scala PackTalk Bold helmet sound systems and they truly are everything the reviewers say. We chatted all the way to and from London at...well, sometimes we were going pretty danged fast - and it was pretty much like being in the same car.

The PackTalk Bolds were an upgrade on a pair of Scala Rider Q3s which were good - but these are far superior.

The connection between the two PackTalk units is easy to establish and dead-nuts solid on the road (even when we were out of sight) and the sound quality is excellent.

After I left Lakeview’s place, I had a 50 mile (80 km) ride home to Windsor and I alternated between music and the CBC radio and the sound was just about as good as in my car. Also, the voice commands are easy to use and work perfectly. As one of the reviewers said, after you turn them on, you can do everything you need to do with just the voice commends. No need to learn the arcane buttons.

Highly recommended and if you’ve never tried riding with a sound system, give it a whirl.
