I think I've read on here about some special rust dissolver that could be used to free up stuck engines.
I've got an old BSA single project that I need something to help free the engine up. I'll be reboring anyway so I'm not worried about the finish it leaves as long as it doesn't eat aluminum.

I'm not familiar with a post on freeing up stuck engines... But you might find this interesting/helpful... Project Farm: Which Penetrating Oil is Best?

Seen the Consumer Reports version of best Penetrating Oil, 50/50 mix of Acetone and Auto Tranny fluid
I'll look into the EvapoRust stuff and fabricate a piston pusher as described in the posts.
I used the 50/50 mix to free up my XS650, it took till the 4th day after 3 nightly squirts, but it worked.

I rarely use penetrating oil but working on my beetle, I’ve emptied two, old partial cans already. I think it helped a bit but the downside is the garage now stinks of penetrating oil. I’ve been spraying over an oil drain pan so the runoff can be taken outdoors overnight to make the smell in the garage more tolerable. I was surprised that when the oil was applied it was quite wet but hours afterward the rusty parts looked essentially dry. First stuff I used up was Liquid Wrench, then PB Blaster. I’m going to sort through my aerosol stash tonight to see what else I have “in stock”.

Found a brand new can of Seafoam Deep Creep on the shelf. Sounds good and will try it out next.

Yikes! And that’s the small can! Maybe it comes with a free plane? 😀

As follow up I got creative. Removed the cylinder studs first, then tapped the holes in the barrel to accept 1/2-13 bolts, made a 1" thick plate to cover the bore with a 3/4" threaded hole in the middle for a pusher bolt. Bolted this to the barrel with a slugs of increased thickness in the bore to push against and pushed/pulled the cylinder off the piston

Being a fan of Brit Bikes I have to ask what you are working on?
