With the engine running, if I shut it down by flipping the kill switch, is the power to the Pamco unit and ignition coil interrupted? I was working on my headlight and wanted to test it without the motor running but was concerned I may fry the coil. Thx and sorry if this was a dumb question :)

It would cut power to the coil but whether or not it would cut power to the Pamco would depend on where you fed it power from. If you fed it from the coil power wire then yes, it would have power to it cut with the kill switch. If you fed it power from some other switched brown power wire then no, it probably wouldn't have it's power cut by the kill switch.

Thx. Is it the only the coil that gets fried by leaving the ignition on or can the Pamco be damaged as well. I’ll check with my test light tomorrow. Thx again !

I think if the coil fries, it can backfeed into the Pamco and fry it too. That's why Pete liked to see the coil power wire fused with a 7.5 amp fuse.

I don’t think mine has a fuse. I guess I should install one. Thx for the tip.
