What have you done to your XS today?

I need a bit of wire loom but I think it looks pretty decent.

Today I removed the factory rear master cylinder boss`s and welded the new section in place. Then plug welded the 24mm to 20.5mm slug`s in place and smoothed the welds. Tomorrow I`l make the neck gussets and sand blast the frame before any final welds. I need to get this up on 2 wheels and mount the tank before I start on the seat that I`ve already changed my mind on twice so far??:umm:

I made a custom mount for my "fog light" lol. But here's the cool part I wanted you all to know. The metal between the lights are part of the Top engine mount brackets that miraculously fit between the light's bolt area. With a dash of heat and slight bending, no fabrication, the smallest width of hole locations on the bracket fit exactly where the horn mounts. I whipped up a piece to hold the front more to prevent bending over time. Pretty snazzy.

Not a thing! The 650 runs like a champ so I turned my attention to one of the Kawi's that doesn't. I swear this bike could have fresh gas but if it sits for more than a few weeks I have to pull the carbs to clean them :banghead:

Is that a TR6 behind the Kawasaki? I do love Triumphs!

I also did this today. I used epoxy resin for the diamond. modified a light a little lol. thinking of blacking out the diamond but not sure.

Test it with black tape. :umm:

Do you mean like put the X design with the tape over it? unless you're talking about some type of tint tape? lol. I was
just going to get that black window/lense tint can spray and do a couple very light coats over it. Because my bike is green so i thought the colors would clash :lmao::lmao:

Hi all. Quick update on my bobber build...

Finished getting it back together after tidying the wiring up and finishing the loom.

Went for a short run up and down the nearby private (!) road and all seems to be ok.

Playing with the carb settings now to get an even tick over etc. Going for a proper run tomorrow with a following van.................

Then wrap the exhausts and see about getting it in for MOT...

Cheers all,
Paul.

Last time I posted about my license plate backing plate, someone mentioned I should have fender washers on the mounting bolts .....

..... so now I do, lol .....

I can't believe this never dawned on me before.
All manufacturers are trying to reduce costs by making fastener hardware thinner and with poorer quality materials. If you you aren’t hung up on colour, L9 washers are some of the best I’ve seen and used. Thicker and strong compared to lesser grades. Not 100% sure but all the ones I’ve ever bought have been plated with a gold cadmium like plating.
