I saw this on another forum and I thought it was pretty impressive ( if a bit large ) I appreciated the craftsmanship in it. It’s a work table patterned after one he’d seen at the Wheels Through Time Museum, all handmade from hardwood, it features a built in ramp that tips forward and locks in place as you push the bike up on it, and casters that can be locked down to roll the whole table around. I just thought some of you might enjoy reading about it. There has been a lot of talk about bike tables recently.

I've been working on a motorcycle being put together with all used parts. A lot of parts sold on here. The shit no one wants or gave up on. Scrap. Dumpster dives. I can usually put one together in a few months. This one will be a year next month. I keep stopping and buying, making, or redesigning tools. I'm I the middle of restoring a 1940s drill press. I wanna post one video with all my recent garage additions. Coming Soon! Haha. I went to school for "Multi Craft Industrial Technology". My work really reflects this. At work, I work on all types of equipment. I wire. I weld. I fab. I troubleshoot. I machine. I paint. I am not an expert at any of these but I get equipment running. I hope one day to be able to get really skilled at at least one thing...maybe when I retire. When I go to shows, I respect the guy who has done all the work himself. Anyone can write checks. Imperfection is beauty when it's done with a caring but learning hand. Art comes in many forms.
 
I love that people put the effort in to do stuff like that and we all get to enjoy it, I don’t have enough time to work on my bikes as it is and a project like that would just take more of my time, wish I could though. Was talking to a buddy about trout fishing today and he said “you should make your own flies” I was like, with 3 project motorbikes on the go, making beer, making salami and other small goods, camping, fishing, hunting, shooting, reloading, rebuilding an old lathe and probably other stuff I can’t think of off hand, I don’t really need another hobby just now, he just laughed and said “yeh I see your point”.
 
The secret is have profitable hobbies, next make a hobby of hiring people to do your hobbies for you

BTW, this would be too delicate if it wasn't solid walnut. I had a second cousin once removed of my father or something who was somewhere up in a sawmill and had a marvelous collection of solid boards in his garage that he'd culled out

Make hobbies pay? I get it, I really do. Problem with my region, people want top notch work and have no $$$. Then people have money, seem like are impossible to please. I threw my hands up a few years back. No more. I work on my shit only.
 
That table is nice, Bob. There is quite a bit of information "out there" on it, but it seems to come from a 1942 Fort Knox motorcycle mechanics handbook. I guess mostly used for Harley-Davidson 45" sidevalves. This site has some pretty good links and info on it, and if I can figure out how I will post a few pics. (It's possible this is all in your original link, but there are a lot of posts in there! But sorry if I am duplicating.):

Hey thanks for posting that link, I just had time to read it. If any of you are considering building one of these , this link has really detailed info with tons of photos!

THAT and (one or two) XS projects are why I don't have time for any OTHER projects.
On the last ride? Madness started breaking up pretty bad at about 4K, she's on the lift while I'm searching for clues. Nothing yet.
