So..the guys here that me know that there is a xs650 build on the kitchen table... But this 71RT360 with no! Miles on it followed me home last week and made my shop it's new home... All the usual suspects parts where just fine and in perfect shape... I have points on the way for it but it has 130 psi compression and the petcock and carb where actually clean...

Is that hard to take or what? They didn't pack all that in on the bikes. Now that I think about it, gggGary should show and tell what to pack and how for a short trip or overnighter. I think that would be cool beans and give us some ideas. :)

I might not pack anything for an overnighter. But here's how to pack for several years. The extra boots are important..........

This was an easy trip, Phil had his MGB but everything but the cast iron fry pan would have been packed on his Concours He's the king of MC travel packing
Here's his long distance packing list. since I didn't need to bring much I splurged and brought the percolator coffee pot. :) my bags had lots of spare room. The ole road barge has it's points.

On the other hand while exploring the Necedah National wildlife refuge Saturday I ended up on a long gravel road then hit deep loose gavel, like all true adventures the outcome was seriously in doubt, kinda wish I had extra underwear, there was some impressive fishtailing going on. If I had all the baggage on at that point prolly would'a gone down.
We roughed it for breakfast; bacon, eggs over easy, toasted english muffins with jam fresh brewed coffee.

You know how to live Gary! ;)

xjwmx; Several years? You mean you never un-pack it? I like the look of the ground pad.

gggGary. That's cool. I like that a lot!

Meanwhile, in Saskatoon,
although the weekend's snowfall and high winds left two feet of snow on the ground, it wasn't cold enough to qualify as a blizzard.
Our neighborhood is loud with the sound of folks' snow-blowers clearing driveways and sidewalks.
It's the City's job to plow the streets and I doubt our minor road will get cleared for the thick end of a week
And it's Civic election day! We pre-voted so we can stay home until we run out of groceries.
I voted for the current Mayor to take another turn.
He's the one who ramrodded the hugely expensive and totally un-necessary downtown boondoggle
so he's the one who's gotta stay in charge and take the consequences.

Had a few days of amazing weather here for November, was in the 60s and 70s. Took the bike out for an hour or so around sunset before putting her into storage for the winter. We got pretty lucky with weather in these parts this year and squeezed out a few more weeks of good riding. Nice end to a great season.

First Snow This Year
Just a dusting, did not stick on the hard surfaces, will be gone as soon as the sun hits it, temp just above freezing and heading up to 3 or 4 C today - they say 12 by the weekend. Last weekend's wind storm blew all the leaves off the lawn and did not break anything so that is a win.

you guys are killing me with all your beutifull weather and motorcycle camping ..bah. it rained so much here that an underground river formed under my house..and I has to build a french drain to save my foundation... How's your weather lol..at least I have my scence of humor
