I have a set of tires for anyone looking for a set of scrambler/dual sport rubber. I put these exact tires on my build. The tire vendor sent me two sets of each and didn't want the extras back, so I'm looking to move the extra set on to someone who can use them.

• Front Tire: Shinko E804 Crossfly Dual Sport (100/90-19)
• Rear Tire: Heidenau K60 Scout Dual Sport (4.00-18)

$100 + free shipping for the set
(I have no idea what shipping will cost, but assume it isn't cheap so that's how I came up with $100 all-in)

Could possibly separate for $50/each + free shipping (I'd have to verify shipping costs first to make sure I'm still making a few bucks for the leg work).

Also, they would come shipped as shown - this is how they were shipped to me (and how I assume all tires are shipped in general as a box/bag seems futile for a product designed to withstand thousands of miles on the road in the elements).

Yup! The last post office I worked at had a tire warehouse nearby, we had a ton of motorcycle tires come through our office. They just wrap them together and slap a shipping label on them.

For anyone's future reference on shipping tires:
  • Cost was ~$57 for the set from MN to CO via UPS Ground...
    • Included a discount for buying label online vs in-store, and I have a shipper account for another little discount
    • Included a $5 "Peak Fee" from them, I guess because we're sort of in a Christmas peak window of Nov-Jan or something...who knows, I assume they'd charge me a $5 "Non-Peak Fee" if we were outside the holiday season
  • UPS in-store quote before any discounts was ~$71
  • USPS online quote was ~$55/60
  • All these prices were for shipping as-is (no box), which meant an added surcharge for unusual/additional handling at both UPS and USPS
    • If you could find a perfect box that didn't add notable increases to dimensions, you could save ~$10-15 at both shippers

interested in your tires, how you want paid?

Hey Melm,

dunno if asking here is right place, but wondering if you like these tires on your XS.

I'm considering these (they look great on yours) and wondering how they handle.
I'm almost exclusively a street rider, but I like the look.

any takeaways appreciated.

@puftas
Hey. They rode well. I was mostly city (under 55mph 90% of time) and enjoyed their ruggedness on our sometimes beat up Minnesota streets. But they also rolled nice on highways or smooth pavement.

I will say they don’t like hard turns or wetness on pavement as much as traditional tires given the reduction in rubber meeting the road. If you’re looking to rip corners or carve windy roads at top speed, or plan on riding in all weather, I’d say go more traditional so you can think less about your tires and more about everyone who’s trying to kill you in their cars.

I'm NYC so potholes yes, but insane drivers everywhere. Might forgo my aesthetic wants for something stickier.

thanks for the hints.
