the cruiser chassis is mounted to a 43mm telescopic fork while the back is support by a pair of Showa shocks with piggyback reservoirs. The 18-inch front wheel is equipped with two 330mm discs with four-piston calipers while the 16-inch rear wheel gets its stopping power from a single 256mm disc. The bike also features ABS at both wheels and Honda Selectable Torque Control with wheelie control.

A 3.6-gallon fuel tank sits on top of the chassis (versus 2.96 gallons for the Rebel 500 for comparison) and the bike weighs in at a total of 487 pounds for the manual trim level and at 509 pounds with the DCT.

Pricing for the new 2021 Honda Rebel 1100 starts at $9,299

I’m sure it is a fun bike to ride and has the usual Honda refinement, but for me the looks are a little ...ummm...:(

Speaking of Honda, check out this little retro 350, made by Honda in India for the Indian market. I think they really got the look right on this one.

wheelie control ?? I'm out

Motorcycles used to have a flash factor
Making a sensation Metallic Flake paint jobs blinking in the evening sun
Ape hangers ..
Chromed up swept pipes polished .. so one cold mirror oneself in the engine.

Look at that exhaust pipe .. When I did military service in 70 ies there was a tent stove for burning wood
Keeping temperature above freezing at winter
That stove was better designed than that pipe ..
If you want an Ugly well working motorcycle that would be a BMW in most cases.
That you cant park at the Roadside cafe either.
But again people go for different things but i think it is safe to say that it is a " Substandard " performing designer involved here
As Mr Trump says " You're Fired "
Perhaps the plan is --- selling a replacement pipe before it is taken out of the shop
Not even long haul Semi trucks looks like that at the exhaust
Not a ladies bike either at 1100 cc

You can thank the EPA for that ridiculous lump of an exhaust.

I lost interest as soon as I saw the cruiser riding position. Makes my back hurt just thinking about it.

An 1100cc twin might be fun tho...

Yeah, watched that one on Youtube the other day. I think they did a pretty good job of capturing the essence of the 70's CB.

A lot of the new bikes have those huge, unattractive mufflers and exhaust systems. A friend just bought one of these. Radical looks and check out the exhaust. Can’t wait to see it in person

compared it to the shadow sabre in the shed now
The Honda VT 1100 C2 Shadow Sabre 61.65 HP (45.0 kW) @ 5500 RPM.
Rebel 87bhp @ 7,000rpm

Shadow torque 68.6 ft.lbs @ 2500 RPM
1100 rebel 72lb-ft @ 4,750rpm
Throttle By Wire, engine management, and tuned exhaust note
Honda VT 1100 C2 Shadow Sabre weighs 261.0 kg (575.4 pounds).
1100 rebel about 500 lbs

The Honda VT 1100 C2 Shadow Sabre seat height 28.7 inches
Rebel 27.5"

Got about $1500 in the well farkled shadow w tax title license.
Rebel with about the same equipment would be north of $11,500

I had no intentions of ever owning a Honda - when I bought mine I had a Ducati Scrambler 803, Triumph Thruxton R and a Ducati Monster S4RS - I only have the Honda left. My wife fell over when I came home with a Honda "you with a Honda". It was a steal -$16000 AUS - Akrapovic Exhaust - On the road - 143HP.
In comparison my Thruxton R was $22000.
The Honda is the best bike I have ever owned (all things considered).
Regards Ray.

Why...oh WHY ....can they not make bikes that look like that for our market? I can't stand the Transformer-Robot or Bionic Insect look of "modern" bikes. I don't want something that looks like it is about to rear up and turn itself into a refrigerator with legs or a toothy monster out to eat my house.

Its as though the bike "design" people (in automotive companies, these miscreants are known as the "beauty police") are sitting around the "styling" department playing multiple rounds of a game called "How fugly can we make it"?

They must all be refugees from the Pontiac Aztec styling team of the 1990s.....

I so agree.

Stopped buying the monthly m/c magazines a few years ago when it occurred to me that there is nothing on the market I am interested in. Well, there would be the occasional flicker of interest when something like the Ducati Scrambler was announced. But when I eventually saw one parked and had a chance to look at it, nah!

Well, I suppose there's still the W800 in its latest incarnation, or the Enfield Interceptor, or even a Guzzi V7. A few smaller bikes like KTM 390 Duke. Okay, I can't say there's nothing. But all the main offerings at best leave me cold.

I'm not a fan of the DCT honda loves. Maybe if I rode one for a while I would get used to it, but with my limited experience they make low speed work akward. Can't drag the brake and slip the clutch, so it's drag the brake and attempt to find the rpm it "slips" at.

Now if I commuted through somewhere like seattle I might learn to love it, or if I had arthritis and my clutch hand gave me trouble in traffic.

The problem is that those two bikes (the Kawi W800 and R-E Interceptor) are simply not widely available in Canada. There are dealers, but not many and none in my area.

I guess its a darned good thing I have my 45 year old version of those bikes.....

As with Raymond - I am completely unmoved by the other offerings on the market. They are either:
  • too impractical (the Italian bikes);
  • too expensive (the German bikes);
  • too unreliable (the German and Italian bikes)
  • or not available or with only a few dealers here (the Kawasaki W800 and R-E Interceptor 650);
  • or just way TOO GD$%#@### fugly (nearly all the rest).
Oh well - it would be better if I were elected to be The Emperor of Motorcycles.

This is Funny --- Motorcycles the short version

--- > Not possible to ride ...
---> Bill Gates the only one can afford it
---> Cant get them last around the Block
----> Not possible to Buy because the nearest Dealer is in Bangalore

And the Kicker

Harley Davidson ??? ... Never Heard of It ??? ( I suppose it is not even considered a Motorcycle in Canada )
like .. buy one of them and all your friends disappear

I'm not a fan of the way my FJ looks, but Oh, Momma! the way it runs!

On another board I hang out on (wait...what...there's another board on the innerwebz? Who knew?) they had an "Ugliest Car" thread. The Pontiac Aztec was the hands down winner based on frequency alone. And that's against some pretty tough competition from AMC (Gremlin, Matador) and Citroen (pretty much all of them).
